GOP Vows To Stay The Party of Obstruction!!!

“It is time to chill out, Republicans,” Representative Bob Filner, Democrat of California, said. “Let this bill work. Let our constituents finally get health care.”

But there were no signs of a ceasefire. Senate Democrats said they would take up a budget reconciliation measure containing the final revisions to the health care overhaul shortly after Mr. Obama signs the main bill at the White House ceremony on Tuesday.

Far from sounding a conciliatory note, Senate Republicans said they would employ every procedural maneuver available to try to derail the reconciliation bill, or at least punch holes in it by knocking out key provisions.

Republicans Vow Repeal Effort Against Health Bill - NYTimes.com
It appears the GOP will do anything they think they can just to hurt the Democrats, even if it means more Americans without health care and Americans going bankrupt because of medical expenses.

I am starting to think the current GOP is so lustful of power, they would push American over a cliff just to get a taste of power back.

Can fascism be far behind if they ever win power back?
what was that McCain campaign slogan again? "Country First"?

Good luck selling that, Republicans!

Obstructing Dems is a noble endeavor. The garbage they just passed is evidence enough that someone needs to stop the leftwing fascists.

Obstruct what?

The will of the people was ignored here.
Funny how the "will of the people" was not quite so important to these hypocrites when Gore won the popular vote!

You can always count on these "principle based" CON$ervoFascists to be on both sides of any issue depending on which side suits their immediate needs.

No, but the Republicans will continue to fight against unconstitutional Bills and the Arm twisting and what should be considered illegal backroom deals that the Democrats made just to get this train wreck passed. But don't worry there is enough opposition to it that it will never fly.

McCollum plans to fight health care bill in court - South Florida Business Journal:

Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum said Monday that he and the attorneys general of nine other states plan to file a lawsuit Tuesday in an effort to block the landmark health care legislation passed by Congress.

The lawsuit, he said, will be filed as soon as President Barack Obama signs the bill into law.

And that is only the beginning.

Yes, and I am proud to be living in one of those states that is filing a lawsuit, Colorado, and we have a Democratic governor who, BTW, is resigning because he knows there is not a snow ball's chance in hell of him being re-elected.

Bennet our liberal senator who got on CNN and told the nation that he would support the take over of health care no matter what his constituents wanted now thinks he can distance himself from this vote, stating he has only been in office one year, and that he is not a Washington insider. I think he is a little nervous, because he too, does not have a snow ball's chance in hell of winning.:lol::lol: I do hope that he spends his last dime trying though.:lol: And I hope that the DNC spends all of their money on him.:lol:

That is so true.

They have even openly admitted that they hope we get hit with terrorist attacks and unemployment soars so they can score political points.
What America-hating scum.

Arkansas GOP head: We need more 'attacks on American soil' so people appreciate Bush
Josh Catone
Published: Sunday June 3, 2007

In his first interview as the chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party, Dennis Milligan told a reporter that America needs to be attacked by terrorists so that people will appreciate the work that President Bush has done to protect the country.

"At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001]," Milligan said to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, "and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country."

They couldn't get enough Republicans to believe this in 2008.

I am glad someone is standing up against our health care premiums jumping %300. But then that's what you get when people try to provide "free" healthcare for all.

jesus, we are all adults here. We know how to read between the lines. We listen to talk radio and watch Cable tv. We are capable of interpreting all the winks and nods.

The GOP has a-l-w-a-y-s been anti medicare and anti Social Security.

The GOP has now stumbled on a way to scare the heck out of seniors and the disabled with cries of saving ss and medicare.

shameless

We'd all be better off without SS

I've crunched the numbers many times here and no matter how you slice it 45 years of saving 15% of your own money in a privately held account is always the best option.
Except when the markets crash.

really....where did the federal government have your social security invested....do you have a 401k....or another form of retirment acccount....if so why....don't you trust the government to invest your money properly and take care of you when you are old....

Going to the emergency room is not access to health care.

Actually it is access to health care.
So is the FREEDOM to go to the doctor when you want.
You just have to pay.

This is the same as going to a restaurant.
You have to pay.

IF you cannot earn your own way perhaps you should work harder, get better training, or determine to live life to the fullest because you don't intend to get health care. The choice is yours.

Except now the choice is Obmama's - no more FREEDOM for us.

Obstructing this Socialist onslaught is a good thing. They now have my full support. Go get em GOP!

FYI no one is saying people shouldn't have access to health care and BTW everyone does.

The issue is does the government have the right to force so called free citizens to buy a specific type of policy?

Are you that far gone that you don't understand what this Bill did to 100's of thousands of Seniors? How many used to have Medicare Advantage? You do understand that they can no longer have this? A plan that used to save them lots of Dollars. My father was on it himself up until he was murdered last August. And all you see is Republican fear mongering? Fool the bill killed a very popular medical insurance program, one that many Senior Citizens relied on. And you think they will all forget this?

things will work out, as long as the Democrats are there. any contributions of a GOP Congress will stick it to seniors more...always does.

Bush tried to reform and privatize social security, the dems scared the hell out of seniors over this. BTW- I am all for privatizing ssi, it's bankrupting the country. There has never been a time when the private sector did not perform better than the federal government.

The government is not capable of running a neighborhood lemonade stand without bankrupting it, and there is history to PROVE it. Now 16,000 new IRS agents to implement this program??? 10 billion to the IRS to start 157 new government agencies with the IRS in charge. That's what you voted for and that's what you support????? And you call yourself an ADULT? I call you a DEPENDENT. And dependents are NEVER ADULTS.

What did America look like pre Social Security?

crunch your numbers. things almost always look better on paper than in r-e-a-l life. what is not in your numbers is human nature and the greed of the street.

you are selfish and thinking only of yourself. if more people were like you we'd be back swinging in the trees or at the least guarding the cave entrance.

The will of the people was not ignored. The People put the House of Representatives in place to legislate for 2 years. That's how it works.

You want 'will of the people'? Fine. Let's see a standalone public option bill passed - the polls show most Americans want that.

So that's what's wrong with the 10% of Americans without jobs! They just didn't work hard enough! they just weren't sufficiently trained. That's why working mothers are forced to do without health care. They're just too damn lazy!

Honestly. when will conservatives actually see that the "I got mine!" and "Screw you!" attitude coupled with cozying up to faceless corporations is not the solution to all our ills?
