I know and mostly they are an exercise in futility. But when they suggest by virtue of the thread they started that Project 2025 somehow pushes child porn or that other people are involved when there is zero evidence of it, I feel like I have to say something.

If the guy in the OP is even guilty--that has yet to be determined--he is one guy. Trying to use him to smear millions of Americans is just ludicrous. And the left is notorious for trying to smear somebody and when it turns out to be untrue they just change the subject. They don't even have the decency to say whoops. And later on they are prone to raising the same debunked accusations again hope they'll stick.

I think you are correct, on the theory, but not sure of your percentage. It has to be far less. He only won 50.5% of the popular vote. It is not logical, even that all 50.5% were voting free of principle, simply on winning.

So your assumption is that only Trump voters would be capable of voting free of principle, and only for the sake of the party.

I doubt it's 80%, but even if it was 60% that would only require 30% of each side to vote for the "D" or "R" behind the name, rather than the policies or qualities of the candidate.

As it applies to dems anyway, I find that very easy to believe...

edit: correction, it would take 60% on each side to vote that way to makeup 60% of the electorate.

I would say a lot of people vote straight-tickets, so it's plausible that the political party is the primary mover rather than the candidate (at least for a lot of people).

It's not plausible to say that 60 or 80 percent of voters are only voting for who they think will win, just so they can be on the winning side...

Some were issue voters, where the issue was more important than all other considerations. You can't always get what you want. I vote Harris, not that I thought she would be a great president, but Trump was the issue I voted against. Some, maybe most, thought the economy, and for whatever reason thought him the best answer. I did not suffer economically. Some immigration the most critical reason, outweighing all other considerations, Trump the logical answer. Biden's damage to himself on that issue is undeniable. Still as single issue, not most significant to me, not living near the border, nor in a city or area with a massive influx of illegal aliens. Nobody in their right mind had any reason to believe Harris would solve this issue. I hold no pejorative illusions of why most Trump voters, voted Trump.

America first is what most democrats hate the most.
