Yeah, because cutting taxes for the 'job creators' works so well to stimulate an economy right? lol
It is working right ? tell obama to thank bush jr for the idea he made permenent
Yeah, Conservative policies decimated Detroit. I don't think I can laugh any harder. Dick.
Brownback is a pathetic excuse for a governor. He does not know how to sell any of his ideas and he works in a state that is loaded with moderate repubic hairs that can't wait to attack him.
I live here. The place is fine in a great many ways.
The mod love the whole education thing. They fight to stop things like standardizing accounting codes so we really know what it costs to educate a kid in the particular system. And when cities or counties move to consolidate schools, the libs go apeshit.
"Conservative policies decimated Detroit."
Third World countries. One of the things they all had in common was a small, very rich elite, small middle class, and a large lower class. They also shared very low economic growth as a result. This has been known for at least 50 years.
The US has been going in this direction for at least the last 30 years as we have gradually de-industrialized and government policies (such as trickle down economics) have promoted the shift of wealth from the lower and middle classes to the economic elite
Deindustrialization refers to the process of social and economic change ignited by the removal or reduction of industrial activity.
The city is not merely bankrupt, but heavily indebted to Wall Street banks. The New York Times has noted how “big banks … abetted Detroit’s descent into bankruptcy.” Like other cities, Detroit had gotten involved in recent years with interest-rate swaps, which have forced it to make big payments to the banks as interest rates have fallen
“Management Rights” and Detroit’s Decline
There’s a widely recited labor-blaming narrative about the UAW supposedly wrecking the auto industry with its outsized demands. How do you reply to that?
I would trace the problem back to the 1970s and ‘80s, when the auto industry itself seemed to pay very little attention to what it was producing or the quality of its products. It didn’t respond quickly to the import challenge from Germany and Japan and other countries. And while I would put about 95% of that blame on management, I would tag the UAW with about 5% of that blame
Detroit and Deindustrialization Dollars Sense
Got it, CONSERVATIVE ECONOMIC POLICY WASN'T AUSTERE ENOUGH, THAT';S WHY IT FAILED, lol
Only a partisan moron would take away that it was conservative eoncomic policy. I really don't give a shit what the writer thinks is the percentage of the UAW.....he openly admits the auto industry shot itself in the ass.
How partisan and fucked can you be ?
You mean 'free trade' policies diodn't matter? The opportunity to offshore jobs, shitcan US jobs, make more money and pay a SIGNIFICANTLY smaller tax burden for the 'job creators" (IN CHINA) doesn't come into play??? lol
Yeah, he said MANAGEMENT, just like the Banksters who hosed US under Dubya, Reagan (S&L) , Harding Coolidge, etc
But NO, it was the unions fault right? Labor laws? Min wage? lol
