And yet Walmart claims they can't find enough. yeah, right.

I hate it but it's the price you have to pay for security these days. In my local Walmart you have to walk through a maze of counters selling mostly candy to get to the checkout counter.

I dont get why they dont hire more cashiers if they are losing billions to shoplifting at self checkout.

Because they can't. People simply don't want to work; a local Walmart hasn't been >80% staffed since 2019.

They have no self-checkouts at Aldi's, and that store can checkout 10 customers with one cashier, better than most convenience stores can. Long lines don't last long there.

I'm sorry, that's wrong. I have USED self-checkout at Aldi's.
