Is there such a concept ?
I have grown used to hearing about the violence and destruction apparently caused by the American version of Antifa. It is generally seen as a bad thing.
But I have been watching reactions to the fuel riots in France and have noted that people seem a lot more understanding. This puzzles me. They have been a lot more destructive than anything seen in the states and there is a body count.
How can these riots be excused when antifa is being condemned.
My own take on the rioting business. People dont like upset and when they do happen the politicians should take note. Its also worth saying that riots can be used by rascals to misbehave. Rioting is the national sport in France , mainly because the French are always pissed over something.
Why arent people condemning the current french rioters ?
It's because of the reasons and motivations behind it.
Antifa has no reason to be upset. They are effectively pushing to squash free speech. They are not being oppressed, or paying 50% in taxes, or anything. There is no valid reason for them to be running a city wide terrorism campaign.
Meanwhile, in France you can sympathize completely with the protesters. I was reading where a man working as a carpet installer, was earning only $16K/year. That places what would be a professional trade skill here in the US that earns $44K, in the realm of a fast food join income. In fact a manager at a Wendy's, likely earns more than a carpet installer there.
So when you look at the near poverty of what would be a middle class job here in the US, you can understand why they are upset. I've seen carpet installers work. It's not easy, flip-the-burger-over type work. So why are they paid nothing?
Taxes, to pay for free education, free health care, pensions and so on.
I just filled up my car for less than $2 a gallon. In France, the price of petrol was over $8/gallon, and the government wanted to raise taxes on fuel even more, to pay for all their government socialized programs.
This is why it is more acceptable to be part of the yellow jacket protest, rather than Antifa. And the protesters themselves know there is a difference.
See the difference?
Antifa is trying to conceal who they are, hide what they are doing, operate in the dark.
Yellow Jackets are out in the open, proudly showing their faces. Why? Because they are just working people fighting against socialist oppression.
Antifa is more a bunch of spoiled brats, who never worked an 8 hour day, engaging in thuggery.
