Good News, At Least 160 confederate Monuments Were Finally Removed In 2020

Under thst mentality we should still be a British colony flying the Union Jack over our government buildings rather than the Star Spangled Babner.
Except one war was for freedom and the other was for slavery.

We don't have any statues to the British generals or soldiers who fought in the revolutionary war here in America.

It's cowardly and childish to try to compare the Revolutionary War with the Civil War.

There is no comparison.

The Revolutionary war statues are next. The Confederate ones were just low hanging fruit.

Please tell the class how the Cult of the Lost Colony ran around putting up statues to distort the history of the American Revolution. It should be fun.

This post was as stupidly clueless as Rump whining about Jefferson and Washington statues being in danger -- two guys who had zero to do with the Civil War. Hey, they're all statues, that's all I need to know, because Dumbass.

I don't know why you guys are arguing with this old doddering idiots. The simple fact of the matter is people who want these statues up are losing, their opinions are useless and in the minority. They'll bitch and moan on the internet and only on the internet will it matter.

Statues are not about History, they're about reverence, we do not revere the useless idiot traitors who wanted to keep slavery and fought for it. But for all those who want to curl up in a ball and pretend like they know the best, they're still that last ballwark for the "real" truth; carry on- you don't matter, and very few people care about you.
No we do not revere useless idiot traitors nor do we like you much for your nasty slander of our ancestors. "We"? You flatter yourself thinking you are a part of "we". You ae the pathetic whining minority revisionists.
You do revere idiot useless traitors, if you revere the Confederacy. I don't care if you love your ancestors and say your poor uncle Thomas was fighting for whatever reason. But the Confederacy as an...Organization was about one thing, and that thing was Slavery. "We" are the Majority, "You" are the Minority- it's why despite your complaining online more and more statues come down. Do you understand you've been in the minority for a very long time? Or do you honestly believe that "Silent Majority" none sense?

No one is revising anything, taking down statues doesn't change whats written in History books... though in some places it should come hand in hand. You know, I'm talking about the places that make people like you who think Slavery wasn't the reason for the War.
Who said I revered the Confederacy? I don't especially. Nor do I revere the Northern union as you seem to. This in spite of the fact that I had ancestors at least one of which fought on each side. The idea that the Confederacy was about one thing is your invention. Yes, slavery was an issue and an important one because the wealth of the South depended on cotton and the production of cotton at that time depended on slavery as it had for some time. Slavery was legal and considered moral. Continued slavery was mostly an economic issue and the South reacted much like the North would have had the South demanded it cease the use of all machinery in it's factories. Nobody wants to be impoverished. And nobody wanted to allow the federal government to dictate State law so some States replaced the federal government with one they liked better. Live and let live.
The idea that the Union fought to free the slaves and the South fought to keep slaves is mostly hype and propaganda. It's far more accurate say that the North fought to keep control of the people and resources of people that no longer felt they could tolerate what they considered an abusive federal government. Which is actually a pretty good example of tyranny itself.

"We" are the Majority, "You" are the Minority-

And that is highly imaginary-but delusional- bullshit. And even if it wasn't it is not just cause to break the law. Obey the law and we got no problem. Otherwise we do.

And yes memorials are history. They are a statement that people cared enough about the subject to place, often at great trouble and expense, that memorial there.
And no, your opinion is not more important than theirs' no matter how much you wish to flatter yourselves otherwise. You're just another group of barbarians who think that somehow childish temper tantrums make you seen cute and special. They don't.

Monuments are **STILL** not "history". Never have been, aren't now, and never will be in the future. PERIOD.

History is recorded in what we call "books". When you find somebody going out burning all the history books, you let us know. But until then, edifice complexes and graven images are irrelevant.
If monuments are not history why molest them? How is it you claim they "hurt" anybody just by existing? If they are "irrelevant" why the hard-on for tearing them down?
Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.

Reasons don't matter, Lefty progs like you will find any reason to get rid of statues, look at what they did to the emancipation statue in Boston.

Trump was right about Washington Statues being in danger...

U. of Washington Students Demand Removal of George Washington Statue for Perpetuating 'White Supremacy'

A petition started by the University of Washington Black Student Union titled, “Demand for the University of Washington Administration to Meet the Needs of Black Students,” demands that the university “remove statues of racist figures,” and specifically calls out George Washington.

The UDC (United Daughters of the Confederacy) propaganda propagation served exactly the same purpose as the UDTR (United Daughters of the Third Reich) did when they ran around Germany, Poland, Belgium, Norway and Russia putting up Hitler/Göbbels/Göring statues to the "noble" cause of Naziism and how the Jews were "happy with their lot" and "sang in the concentration camps in honor of their benevolent masters".

--- Except of course that the UDTR never existed and wouldn't be tolerated.

If all you have is the Nazi angle, you got nothing.

The Civil war was a civil war, where the purpose was to bring the revolting population back into the country. Part of the process was allowing both sides to remember their fallen and their leaders as they saw fit.

Now people like you want to change that, decades after the people who actually fought it are long gone.

Your comparison is idiotic and worthless.

I'm very happy to read about this. I hope it continues.

All of those monuments and statues should be in a museum where they belong.

People who attacked our nation causing the bloodiest war in our history, which put brother against brother, which killed over 600 thousand Americans, should never been revered or celebrated.

They should only be held in contempt. They aren't patriots. Patriots don't go to war to leave the union.

They are traitors to our nation and the last thing they deserve is our respect or any sort of monument or statue.

Only Nazis and commies would be happy about removing history. You libtards are so friggin stupid.

Once AGAIN for the stupids ---- monuments are NOT where we keep history. BOOKS are where we keep history. Nothing changed about that.

Monuments are where we REWRITE history, if so inclined, which is what these particular monuments tried to do, and succeeded for too long. Why don't you tell the class what sort of folks would be UNhappy that the REWRITE was undone.
Bull! Monuments record history same as books do and books can be written in an attempt to rewrite the history recorded by monuments just as easily as the other way around. Fact is both are made by people and sometimes people either lie or do not know the truth and record something else. You're all about agenda; not history and not truth. You desperately search for excuses.

Uhhhmmmm.... I ain't the asshat who just made up a fictitious "very important battle" that never happened, Gummo, so which one of us is "desperate"?
No, you're the asshat who thinks all of history in some way pertains to slavery even though it was abolished long ago.
And I "made up" nothing". I confused similar place names.

Also, the Dixie states honoring their troops and war memorials commemorating their side is part of the reunification agreement.

Not only are the crank leftists welshers, they also hate legitemate US war veterans.

Lemme tune that up for ya.

The Cult of the Lost Cause was/is a propaganda war, where the purpose was to bring the Confederacy away from the revolting legacy of its behaviour in the view of the rest of the country. Part of the process was coercing municipalities to erect propaganda transmitters to remember, black people, who's in charge here.

Now people like you want to rally 'round those propaganda transmitters lest that message of dominance be diminished, and, horrors, the nation might see the actual history for what it is rather than what it's whitewashed into.

Of course another part of that process was the incessant monkeying-up of school textbooks and popular culture, but we already touched on that. As for the people who are long gone, how inconvenient that one of the primary OPPONENTS of this kind of propaganda was Robert E. Lee, whose image erupted like acne for the purpose of selling that propaganda revised-history bullshit against his will.

Your post above was idiotic and worthless, not to mention clueless. I fixed it for ya.

You've been corrected at least three times now on CSA war veterans.

CSA veterans are not "US war veterans" any more than Sri Lankan, Paraguyan or Latvian veterans are.

And what the fuck is this "reunification agreement"? Is it out there at the "Battle of Stone Mountain"?

Fer fuxsake, for a school of fish claiming to be all about history, there seems to be a copious amount of it flowing from the Long Intestine.

"All history" in no way pertains to slavery. You made that up just like you made up the "Battle of Stone Mountain". You know, the one that "deserves to be remembered".

If something "deserves to be remembered" how is it you can't remember it?

Go see my video in post 108. Here, I'll even link it for ya.

See also referenced books by Edward Pollard and Thomas Dixon and the films "Birth of a Nation" and "Gone With the Wind" and a lot of Disney fare from the first half of the 20th century when that propaganda was most effective.
