You had been warned for some time. The alt-left who love having critics silenced applauded the moves "it's a privately owned business". Right. One that had excessive protections.

Now it's people who have lost their family members and express their outrage. What speech is protected if someone can't express their anger after losing a family member? Even the broader media are calling this out, but an individual citizen who was personally impacted cannot?

If these social media companies are part of the capitalist system, why do they need special protections? Let them operate in the real world, take away their protections in the U.S.

Their global influence has been waning or at a standstill anyways even as it is extensive right now, replaced by Chinese and other regional social media choices. Maybe if they are forced to defend free speech instead of stifling, the effect might be more trust and global influence.
