Wrong….the govt is much more efficient than for profit entities. Private industry never builds roads and infrastructure or provides HC as cheaply as govt funded
It's true that only government can do a few jobs, but any time a private company can do the same job, it always does it better. The reason is it's somebody's money. No incentive to waste. In government, they don't consider it anybody's money, so they aren't careful with it.

Feeding children in cafeterias is not parenting. And it's not being done by government. It's funded by government but done by poorly paid lunch ladies.
As I said, there are certain jobs the private sector can't do. Infrastructure is probably one of them. But as I also said in any area in which the private sector can compete, it always beats the government. Government isn't about protecting the common good. Government is about rewarding political donors and spending lots of taxpayer money without a thought of frugality. There is NO incentive for a government agency to spend less money. The private sector is geared toward making money. The public sector is geared toward providing services. The public always does a better job in areas where private refuses to participate, simpley because they can’t make a profit. For some strange idea, anti govt peoples think it cost more for non profits than for profits. Look at the USPS and UPS. Ups flat refuses service out side their areas where the USPS is obligated to provide delivery to nearly all areas…does it cost more to provide services on an equal bases…..even when the economics are working against you ? The government does not deal with reality as much as an ideology. Are you familiar with the ban on CFCs in 1987 from refrigerants? We weren't allowed to release them into the atmosphere starting then. The claim was they depleted the ozone layer and caused the ozone hole. As a practicing Catholic, I paid all my bills and never lied to tenants or anyone else. I have encountered a few crooked contractors, but steered away from them because I did due diligence on them, and because I had a network of great honest contractors who recommended others like themselves. When you behave a certain way, good or bad, you attract others who behave like you. That's something I've noticed throughout my career.
