Seems to me the Taliban are using the Islamic religion as a cart blanche "Kill anyone who opposes us" card. It's pure cowardice in my book.

It's also a very unoriginal tactic that has been used for thousands of years by not just Islam and Christianity, but many of the lesser known religions as a way to maintain control over a given group of people or a region. The ingredients are the same. Just a different era now.
