Don't get me wrong, I think that this is really cool, but how did they go from nobody can ever know about this because it's a HUGE secret to now it's all over the news? I'm confused.

^^^ They kept the connection a secret at first so that her tryout and casting would be fair and legit and it was. No one in charge of the play knew until later that the girl is related to the actress in the real movie.

After she was chosen it did not need to be a secret anymore since the granddaughter won the part on her own merit
