We lost nothing except peace in Europe. Trust is an element of peace politics. And Germany had been always unbelievable successful in peace politics. But in this case even the Ukrainians had been surprised from the war politics of Russia. It's totally mad what Putin is doing and his politics makes not any sense for no one. This problem was always clear. Our nuclear power plants had a complete security check every 10 years. The check in 2019 was not made beause the last three nuclear power plants should be switched of now in 2022. So they need some time for repairs when the current plans of the German government have to be realized.

Now all they need to do is to reverse the foolish decision to decommission all their Nuke plants.

If it had been finished in time then for sure it had been much more easy for Germany to support the East of Europe (also the Ukraine) with Russian natural gas as we had done in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

That's a very good thing. Along with Germany building up its military, and Finland and Sweden joining NATO, and Ukraine kicking Russia's ass on the battlefield, it looks like Putin's land grab was a very dumb idea.
Not to mention the economic hit Russia is taking, companies and investments are leaving Russia.

Turkey is the worst problem in this context. But also Poland and Hungaria are very serious problems. Because no one is able to throw out anyone of the NATO I would suggest to create an EDU - an European Defense Union (without Turkey) - and with the possiblity also to throw out any other member. Then all this nations could leave the old NATO and found a new NATO-2 with only 2 partners: the EDU and the USA.

Merkel suggested to Donald Trump to buy also LNG from the USA and to build a terminal for 1 billion dollar on the own costs of Germany, so the LNG from the USA had been able to be delivered all over Germany with the own pipeline system. But Donald Trump suddenly was not interested in such a deal any longer.
