Of course it is having a clue. But now that is discussing the larger subject between those who know and serve God and those who neither know or care to know God or do much of anything about it. You must think when you die you evaporate into oblivion, which is the only reason one would not care about this life in eternal terms. But for those of us who know and worry about sin, we are the grateful ones.------ so her counterpart feeling up a religion book from two, three thousand years ago while swearing is 'having a clue"?
I doubt any book “empowers an oath.” I guess when witnesses in trials used to put their hand on the Bible and swear to tell the truth it was indication they were bound to be honest beyond just their word but also because of their allegiance to a God to whom they strongly believe in and want to honor. Same for taking an oath for office. This woman who used Malcolm X is telling me I do not care about “your God.” That concerns me more about her beliefs and ideas much more than the fact she happens to like Malcolm X as well. How exactly does any book -- Holey Babble, Malcolm Bio, Hustler Magazine --- empower an oath anyway? Some kind of magic flooby dust in there? Say, what if a page was ripped out of the book before the oath? Does the public servant get a day off?
