George W. Bush Visits Fort Hood, Wounded Soldiers

they opposed it dipshit because of all the other bullshit that was stuck in there.....

Those little DEM 'add ins' are something they always forget to include when they speak of the 'new GI Bill'
exactly Dave....and you notice Bfgrn did not include that in his post....now to be fair about this the Republicans do the same with many of their bills......

True.. and when that is pointed out I stand against those earmarks too...

Funny.. the GI Bill bill could have simply stood alone and easily passed with bipartisan support... but the lefties decided to include things that they knew would otherwise never pass... which then put many like myself in opposition of the bill

He should...he's the main reason our troops have reached their breaking point...

Notice President Obama and the Democrats supported Jim Webb's new GI Bill. The same Bill Bush and McCain opposed...they were concerned about our troops; that the Bill's provision to get an education would make it too easy for our brave soldiers not to re-enlist...

BTW, IF Bush's visit was secret, why are we AWARE of it?

hey Bf.....tell me if im wrong ...but did not GWB sign this into law last year? and its taking effect now?.....so why the big accolades toward Obama like he is the guy signing it?....if Bush was against the BILL itself.....why did he sign it.....

Notice that Bush visited the wounded troops and their families that were there and did not show up with the press or photographers. He brought his wife and they did what they came to do and left.

And he didn't Remind us that he has Responsibilties as the President...

Obama can't HELP but to Talk about himself, even during a Horrific Event like this.

This and other Comments:

In the meantime, I would ask all Americans to keep the men and women of Fort Hood in your thoughts and prayers. We will make sure that we get answers to every single question about this horrible incident. And I want all of you to know that as Commander-in-Chief, there's no greater honor but also no greater responsibility for me than to make sure that the extraordinary men and women in uniform are properly cared for and that their safety and security when they are at home is provided for.

Came AFTER this:

I hear that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow was around, and so I want to give a shout-out to that Congressional Medal of Honor* winner. It's good to see you. (Applause.)

Did he REALLY Need to Remind us that he's President?

:)

"Did he REALLY Need to Remind us that he's President?"

Seems to really bug the hell out of you.
Suck it up.
Welcome to MY world.
Had to do the same for almost 7 years........

His Focus on Self is Concerning...

This is just another Example... And before Commenting on this Attack on a US Military Base on our Soil, he Thew a Shout out... Then he Tells us NOT to Jump to Conclusions, while Reminding us he's the President.

And I am NOT in your World... Don't Know what it is, and it's NOT Relevant.

Suck this up. ;)

Malcontent,
Yup, you certainly are. It's amusing to watch !
You get to stew in the juices of your discontent with the president. There's nothing you can do about it and it's pissin' you off.
Been there, done that.
Your turn ;)
So far as his reminding us that he's President.....not sure I get that. I'm sure that he is the President, so it's of little consequence that he says so.

That's where your Confusion lies... I Lose as Much Sleep with Barry in Office as I did with (43), as I did with Billy, as I did with (41), as I did with Reagan, as I did with the Peanut Farmer, as I did with the House Minority Leader, as I did with Nixon when I was in the Crib...

That would be Zero. ;)

I Know I've Received Multiple e-mails from him on the Dark-of-Night Weekend Attempt at Generational Theft his Party Perpetrated this Weekend...

Nothing about Ft. Hood though.

:)

Mal,
I don't think he has. Given the operational and security headaches associated with an impromtu POTUS visit, I 'm glad he hasn't ( as is the rest of Ft. Hood command chain).

W lives in TX.....and it's not as if he's got anything better to do nowadays. Damned decent gesture. I LOATH W, but have little doubt he did this because he thought it to be the right thing to do.

I would think so too; at this point in time they need to be focused on the investigation and taking care of the wounded (and others who no doubt are traumatized by this).

He could've Done it without his Regular "ME!" Status, just as W did...

You know, like how he and his Party Passed ObamaCare in the Dark of Night on Saturday.

Did he make a speech? Before or after this? Did he ask them to make the flight come in at a better hour, you know in sunlight?

Yes, the press was there, he is the president and what did you hear him say during all of this?

Nothing. He sowed his respect!

By the way, great freaking pictures dude. You rock!

No speech needed, it was photo op.

Any pics of Bush at Dover? Hmmm? Cheney maybe? Hmmm?

Bush doesn't usually do his grieving in front of cameras for the edification of the media.

OH really??

What was his visit to Ground Zero??

Are you saying George Bush did not grieve on that day? The rest of America did

15th post
I don't see what is so pressing that the President has to wait a week before he visits Ft. Hood. Doesn't he realize by that time most of the Funerals will be in full swing or over with? Not to mention those funerals are probably going on in different states so the families won't be at Ft Hood

He shouldn't visit at all. His first priority should be ending the occupations. Or am I the only one to notice Troops being deployed had a role in this? Who wants to be openly selfish enough to claim this had nothing to do with our actions as a nation over the past decade?

The disturbing part is if we were to actually be attacked many Americans would cry foul and be arrogant enough to say it was unprovoked. People better wake the **** up. You cannot go globe trotting on a killing spree and expect no consequences.

How many Americans do you think we have to sacrifice to them before they feel they're 'even'? How many Americans will it take to be killed before someone like you stops justifying their murder? Are you really this stupid? Where does someone like you get such a naive viewpoint of the world? You're the one that needs to 'wake the **** up'.

I have a hard time dealing with draft dodgers who do illegal invasions, and cause so many unnecessary deaths, but I'm sure some of the troops and family felt good about this, so chalk one up for Laura and George.
