They don't make 'em like this anymore.

I have no idea about his real personality, but based on his roles and his acting, I'd guess he is a special person. Hope he is enjoying what's left of his life.

Great actor! and what a great movie that was! May he live in health for many more years!

He's a lot like Eastwood. His movies are all great. I especially liked Unforgiven and The Quick and the Dead. I do like westerns. Hope he sticks around forever.

My favorite movie of his is "The Conversation". Great actor, and underrated. Never got his due IMO.

I grew up from my teenage years with Gene Hackmans films think i saw every one of them, what a legend and fine actor, i will work my way through his back Catalogue, it will take a while because there are so many, thank's for the wonderful memories, rest easy Gene.

It has just been on the news in the UK Hackmans Daughter says it looks like Carbon Monoxide, if so that's very sad.

news states he was 95 and his wife died too and she was 30 years younger at 65

he was in the marines for 4 years, he served.........respect, the marines are tough

Had 3 family members in the marines

Great actor and he still looks good. I'm kinda surprised he ended up in New Mexico.
He liked it there, he wasn't attracted to crowds and the Hollywood set. He lived in Santa Fe, have you ever been there?

Possibly my favorite Hackman movie is the lesser known The Conversation. I was this myself as a teenager and it has a pace and style that make's it very absorbing, not an action film but definitely a Hackman film.

Played ball in Albuquerque and Las Cruses and I've been through Santa Fe but never stayed there. I liked that hill outside of town where you could see the whole town from up there. Not many cities in the east where you can do that.
