They were written during the Carter and Reagan administrations. Was Reagan a liberal too? Besides, at this point, with or without regulations, I doubt we'll see another refinery for a while. Its cheaper and easier to construct refineries in other countries.
As for the bases for refineries. It's as brillent as the Maginot line. Not a negative, but pointless.[/QUOTE
Typical, the reason most experts say is the problem for our supply of fuel is the lack of refining capacity but somehow you know what people that actually work in the industry don't know. Why build in other countries and have to depend on transport problems? How is that cheaper in the long run?
Get in an airplane and fly across this country, get out of that artificial little haven and see how much open space there really is across this country. We live in America not a new England, the rest of the country isn't at all like that elitist piece of shit you live in(the worst drivers I have ever experienced in the world are Boston drivers).

Your looking at the wrong Haddington.
The impoortant idea is that I want the company that can do the job the as good as possible, for as little as possible, and as honestly as possible. If Halliburtan is all of those things then I am more than happy to let them do the job. Do you have a problem with that?
sure.

Initial construction yes, but environmental impact and feasability studies (hehehe) started in the 80s.
I believe the project was designed by MIT engineers. Apparently Boston didn't want to drive an extra three blocks to find someone who could get the job done right. Hehehe...
Then again, this is pointless to the subject so moving on.
crap.

Exactly. The entire market value of Apple is less than that of Bill Gates before he found the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Apple controls 5-6% of the operating software market. Microsoft is killing Apple in the computer market. Thats the analogy.
I assume your concedingthe following arguements.
So what? Apple is no different than Porsche, BMW or Mercedes, More Chevrolets are sold than all three put together. Does that fact make Chevrolet better? Microsoft may be "killing" Apple in world sales but Apple is killing Microsoft in innovative and quality design and craftsmanship. Microsofts new operating system, announced in 2001 as Longhorn andclaimed to be available in 2004 is now called Vista and has had it's release pushed back again to early 2007(even if it does finally come out it will no doubt be obsolete upon release). Apple's OS10 shipped in March of 2001 and has had numerous free updates along with 3 major updates from Jaguar to Panther to Tiger. Leopard is schedueled for release in August of this year. That is a totally new operating system the same year Microsoft was announcing a future change with 4 major updates before Windows latest release date, Windows can try once again to copy Apple's work but are so far behind, who cares?

Same arguement against the National Sales Tax. Is someone a closest democrat? Yes you are correct. The rich will be less affected because they are rich. This is generally true of flat taxes.
That is funny, if I care about the poor I am a closet Democrat...bullshit. If I was advocating using the poor to get votes I would agree but that isn't what I was talking about. The Dems are the party that gave cigarettes to homeless and fried chicken to blacks to buy their votes.
Just like the Democrat party you totally missed the point. The Democrat party has used the poor for votes for decades and yet their policies haven't helped any poor people get out of that bracket. Their strength comes from keeping people poor and dangling a carrot in front of them and demonizing the Republicans promoting envy of what they supposedly have. The Democrats hypocritically pretend that they aren't rich, that they are one of them. Kennedy, Kerry, Palosi all extremely rich and the only "people of color" they have contact with are their maids and yard workers and maybe a few athletes. The fact is they offer no real world solutions, never have.

I agree. However, we are going to be hitting a major oil supply issue very soon. Plus do you really want to rely on the Middle East for oil? On dictators who channel money to Bin Laden? Because if you do, then by all means lets keep things the way they are.
I have heard that same arguement for decades, the oil is there, the refined product is the supply problem. We need to build new updated refining centers that keep fuel supply flowing even with disruptions because of earthquakes, Hurricanes, or strikes. Work is being done on alternative ways to live whether it be transportation or dwellings but we need solutions now. Taxes aren't going to stop people from driving their own cars, cars a part of the freedom in this country. You will only hurt the people that can afford it the least.
