Hope not ! Don’t think it would be financially beneficial to anyone. As Chinese and Americans invest in companies that operate in each other countries and worldwide on the global trading platforms.

The article I linked suggested it might be a rehearsal of the first phase of war with the USA/West.
BTW, that link appears to be short lived.

Despite mutual investment and trade, that doesn't always prevent wars. World War Two is filled with multi-national corporations active on both sides. Standard Oil and Ford are a couple that come to mind in my foggy memory.
