Maybe some us just got the sad news earlier today,,but we do have a crisis!!!,,The plant/plants needed to create the main ingrediant in Tequila are in short supply and take about seven years to harvest. Tequila producers will not be able to keep up with the demand anytime soon.

So what are we all gonna do now? This is a crisis worse than New Coke and Anthony Wiener showing his body parts to the world !!!

They ran into this with hops recently, due to the "IPA moar IPA" craze. Luckily the IPA thing is passing, and Sour Beers and Porters are making a comeback.

can you imagine the fights in liquor stores for the next few days? and we thought some of those Wal-Mart fights to the near deaths over clearance items were a bit violent.

Yeah, the high-end distilleries will still get their share, but at a higher cost. There was a shortage last decade as well.

i guess now we will be drinking generic tequila. i wonder what ingrediant will replace the main one? Mountain Dew?

Nope. The plants only live in a restricted area and they've just about all been harvested as of now.
