The American people aren't "bowing to mandates", they're DEMANDING them. And they're doing so because to ensure that they're aren't needlessly being exposed to a deadly by idiots claiming their "freedom" is being violated.

The people are not "paralyzed with fear". They're fed up with people getting sick and dying needlessly. The doctors and nurses are exhausted with caring for the sick and dying, while they and their families are being placed at risk from the virus by those who refuse to protect themselves.
