French far-right leader cancels CPAC speech over Steve Bannon’s ‘Nazi’ salute

What you gave us was in no way any reference to a nazi, Tomi, but there you are
trying to pawn it off like it is. Very disingenuous of you.
What I put up there was as legitimate as yours. I don't believe those I put up in no way
referenced a nazi, but showing you just how utterly pathetic your attempt was to try to link
Bannon to it. It's what a left wing hack would do.
Stupid and pathetic
I know you are an expert on nazis old fella. But I watched musk go nazi and bannon as well. Now you have kust shown me some still pictures that nazis put together to deflect from nazis.
Do better.

I think this fella is part of Le Pens crew. How nazi do you have to be to repel actual nazis ?
We are clearly thru the looking glass here.

Bannon needs to tidy himself up His scruffy unwashed routine might fo down a storm in provincial Roseanne america. But it cuts little ice with French nazis who are at least well turned out.

If they want to grow the reich they should try and look the part.
Other than the bought and paid for ADL, the American far-right are the only bigots who deny Bannon's & Elon's Nazi salutes.

It's the new leftist attack talking point. Anybody on the right who does a heart throw or extends an arm for effect will now be accused of doing a 'Nazi salute.' (Those on the left are completely ignored when they do the same.)

It's utterly ridiculous, disingenous, absurd, hateful, but the American left doesn't have any kind of stellar record on common sense or intellectual honesty or sense of fair play.

Here is something for you Marc, but it probably doesn't fit your mantra so you will probably totally ignore it.

Rather than Italy at the time of the Roman republic or Roman empire, the salute gained prominence in France in the 18th century, during the French Revolution.

The artist Jacques-Louis David is credited with popularising the image. His neoclassical paintings drew heavily on themes from Roman history, with the embellishment of the straight-armed salute.

The Nazi salute was not invented by Adolf Hitler or Benito Mussolini, nor is it limited in time to the Second World War or in place to Europe. The salute dates all the way back to the Roman Empire and is properly known as the Roman salute (Saluto Romano).

What is the history behind the gesture?

The Nazi salute, also known as the Heil Hitler salute, consisting of an outstretched right arm with the palm down, was used as an official greeting in Nazi Germany.

But the gesture dates back to a salute that is said to have been used in ancient Rome.

Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, who aimed to restore the country to imperial Rome, adopted the gesture in 1925.

Say what you will about these men: None of them proclaims a Hitlerian worldview. Not too long ago, Steve Bannon was taking a page out of Al Sharpton’s book and denouncing Silicon Valley bosses for not hiring enough blacks and Hispanics, which would make his brand of Nazism quite peculiar. Elon Musk has time and again pledged support for the Jewish people. He visited Israel in late 2023 and wore dog tags given to him by the father of an Israeli hostage in Gaza. Later, he went to Auschwitz with Ben Shapiro.

Yeah, I know that the Roman salute became the Nazi salute.

Doesn't change anything.

Yeah it does, but just ignore it Marc.

Other than your salute what have you heard from Bannon and Musk
that would lead you to believe that they are nazi's?
musks family were kicked out of canada during the war for nazi sympathies. They moved to the biggest nazi country at the time. He brought his poison to the US where his swasticar plant in California was constantly sued for racist practices.
Bannon has been a nazi for years. And a scruffy ****.
