Now that the voting process in America has been undermined, mocked and deemed useless...the LAST 2 Freedoms that you and I have left are , 1.) is the freedom to wage war against tyranny (2nd Amendmet, Right to bear Arms) and 2.) the Freedom to die in the process.

:clap2: Good Luck Patriots. The British(UN) are coming....again.

Freakazoids might not realize it but every time the president signs a bill into law you lose a little bit (or a lot?) of freedom. We trade freedom for security every day. You would think the crazies who whine about the lack of freedom in the Country they learned to hate would join the Tea Party and try to work within the system to fix what is broken.

The fight between individual liberty and statist coercion has been going on for 100s of years. It ebbs and flows.

People need to realize first and foremost that "Freedom" refers to not being imprisioned. It does not mean freedom from consequences.

It means the absence of government compulsion. Being out of prison doesn't mean you are free, otherwise you could claim the people of China are free.

Imprisonment can take on various forms that do not necessarily mean being behind bars. Presumably that is what you meant. Economic freedom, is probably the most important when it comes to societal freedoms. At least from my view.

Revolution will come only when children are not indoctrinated to believe that government is their friend and protector, would not lie to them nor steal from them, and truly cares about each person's well-being.

I see the resistance everyday to people's not merely willingness but ability to believe that government lies, steals, doesn't give a rat's ass about the individual, and is more afraid of the people everyday and knows only one response, oppression.

Sigh. Here we go again.

The simple-minded, budding revolutionaries are once again unwilling to accept the Will of The People as expressed by their votes (Constitution, anyone?) and are lost in their Red Dawn fantasies.

Give it a rest or get on with your revolution.

Freedom and equality are mutually exclusive terms. The Will of the people is to trade freedom for equality because they can be equal as they lay around in someone's basement.

Everyone has freedom to do anything they want i.e. rob a bank, kill someone, vote who you want to vote for, say anything you want. However there are consequences to every action or word. Not all the consequences carry imprisonment.

Yes they did have freedom in the Soviet Union, they just didn'y want to pay the price for their words or actions as they felt the consequences were too high.

Excellent point!

I think, though, that what too many want to define as "freedom" is actually anarchy...and they'll find they REALLY won't like that!

I agree. Frankly, this is not a case of lack of freedom but a lack of appreciation. They are not revolutionaries. They are just spoiled brats who think they are entitled to anything they want. They talk about bloodshed without the slightest idea of what that actually means. It's like they have a John Wayne movie playing in their head and they are the star.

Our society is freer now than it has been at any other time in its history. People come onto a public forum, call for armed rebellion and scream obscenities about our leaders and nothing happens to them. Yet they think they are in chains. Absurd.

The freedom to peaceably assemble, go to the worship service of one's choice, and to call a bad idea out onto the carpet for public perusal in a time of peace--fair game imho. :muahaha:

Freedom has been rejected in favor of fairness and equality. You cannot have freedom AND fairness and equality. The terms are mutually exclusive.
