1.Freedom, liberty, is intimately associated with ownership, private property.

The prophets…(pun intended) of the Left, Rousseau, Hegel and Marx demand the abolishment of private property….that is the cornerstone of communism, socialism, Progressivism, Leftism.

And the majority of the Democrat Party bought this like it was on sale.

Two values absent from Leftism are truth, and freedom.

Every one of these…communism, socialism, Liberalism, Progressivism, Fascism and Nazism….have one of these three as the final phase for society: serfs, slaves, or corpses.

2. Marxism rested on the assumption that the condition of the working classes would grow ever worse under capitalism, that there would be but two classes: one small and rich, the other vast and increasingly impoverished, and revolution would be the anodyne that would result in the “common good.” But by the early 20th century, it was clear that this assumption was completely wrong! Under capitalism, the standard of living of all was improving: prices falling, incomes rising, health and sanitation improving, lengthening of life spans, diets becoming more varied, the new jobs created in industry paid more than most could make in agriculture, housing improved, and middle class industrialists and business owners displaced nobility and gentry as heroes.

These economic advances continued throughout the period of the rise of socialist ideology. The poor didn’t get poorer because the rich were getting richer (a familiar socialist refrain even today) as the socialists had predicted. Instead, the underlying reality was that capitalism had created the first societies in history in which living standards were rising in all sectors of society.
From a speech by Rev. Robert A. Sirico, President, Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty.
Delivered at Hillsdale College, October 27, 2006

3. “…"the most important graph in the world." The numbers along the X-axis are years. Two thousand of them. The numbers on the Y-axis are dollars. All of them, divided by the number of people on the planet. It’s what’s called GDP per capita, which is the world’s economic output divided by its population. GDP is considered the best measurement of a country's standard of living and, in this case, the world’s standard of living.”

4. Capitalism:

“The results were inescapable: nearly everywhere on the planet men and women lived longer, ate better, enjoyed more leisure, and had access to resources and delights that previously had been reserved for the very rich and powerful, or more commonly, had been utterly unknown.” Joel Mokyr, “A Culture of Growth: Origins of the Modern Economy” http://assets.press.princeton.edu/chapters/s10835.pdf

Whom The Gods Would Destroy they first make mad. Soooo….the Democrat Party is racing full bore to, once again, being the Socialist Party….and destroying itself.

1."MARXISTS AND EXTREME RADICALS SEEK TO TAKE OVER THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY

  • DNC chairman Tom Perez said Democratic Socialists of America member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez “represents the future of our party.”
  • DSA chapter chairs have agreed that “communism is good.”
  • One DSA caucus calls its members “revolutionary Marxists.”
Marxists And Extreme Radicals Seek To Take Over The Democratic Party

In capitalist economies, there is a continual upward mobility as the lower income people move up into the middle, upper, and top income brackets, and those brackets grow in size over time. In socialist economies, there's no upward mobility unless you are related to or close friends with those in power and if you ain't one of those people then you're fucked.

The other thing is ideas, the well-spring of innovation and progress. Capitalism provides incentives to promote new ideas but socialism doesn't.

I'm gonna quote JFK saying that in my last post for the thread.

5. Perhaps you attribute that graph to the industrial revolution rather than the free market.

“This one breaks the GDP hockey stick into regions. As you can see, there are a number of hockey sticks. But note that they don’t rise at the same time. The United States surged first.

Why?

Well, in a very fortuitous coincidence the year 1776 witnessed both the signing of our Declaration of Independence and the publication of a book called “The Wealth of Nations” by the Scottish economist and philosopher, Adam Smith. In his book, Smith explained how to create a modern free-market capitalist economy and the benefits of doing so.

America’s wise founders took Smith’s principles to heart and within a mere 100 years—the blink of an eye historically—capitalism turned the United States from thirteen backwoods colonies into the world’s largest economy. And it has held that position ever since.

Western Europe shot up as well, but later. It rose steadily during the Industrial Revolution and then experienced a sharp rise after World War II when, between the end of the war and the mid-1960s, it fully embraced the free market. Japan, too, shot up after World War II - surpassing Western Europe for the first time after the US helped the Japanese transition to a democracy and a free-market capitalist economy.Eastern Europe took off after it was released from the Soviet Union and socialism in 1991.China did likewise after the Chinese moved away from strict socialism and implemented some limited free-market policies.” The Market Will Set You Free

6. Resistance to free market capitalism is resistance to prosperity for our citizens.
Socialism is theft, and results in graft and corruption.

Politicians have found ways to spin straw into gold....to enrich themselves....: loopholes.
They write bills to squeeze industry, and industry bribes them with 'lobbyists'......Hunter Biden, Hillary Clinton, etc.

They hate Trump because he has infringed on their racket:
"Deregulation Nation: Trump Admin Killing 13 Regulations For Each New One

One of President Donald Trump’s campaign promises was to roll back Obama-era regulations and to lift a variety of restrictions put in place by the mammoth bureaucracy that is our federal government.

He stated in the lead-up to the 2016 election that he intended to eliminate two regulations for every new one. To date, the Trump administration is far exceeding that goal, eliminating 13 regulations for every new one.

The Washington Examiner reports:

“We’ve hit 13 to 1,” [Russ Vought, acting budget office director] told a Heritage Foundation conference on federalism. And cutting so many regulations, he added, has saved taxpayers $33 billion.

Departments and agencies including the departments of Labor, Education, Agriculture, and the Environmental Protection Agency have led the war on regulations, according to federal reports.

Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff, said that President Trump has a builder’s approach to regulations and federalism.

“It is the best kind because it is real and it’s born of real world experience,” said the former House member.

“The president has it because he had to go and pull a permit to build a building and deal with bureaucracy and doesn’t like that and knows why that impedes growth and impedes development, impedes creativity,” said Mulvaney."

Think bank robbers would be upset if Trump took away their guns?

Same thing here.

The most free market is humanity's oldest market. The Black Market will exist in any society including the most repressive regimes on the planet. Usually creating a large profit margin.
Many governments have sought to eradicate it, but where there is demand regardless of legality, the Black market will exist in the shadows of any governmental regulation.
Whether considered good or bad on moral grounds, it will always be there.

I believe you've missed the point of this thread.

It is a comparison of the free market, versus the command and control economies championed by Bolsheviks, Nazis, Progressives, Liberals,Socialists, and Fascists.

David Mamet:
    1. In the free market, if a product or service does not please, it is discontinued. Compare that to government persistence and expansion of programs that proven to have failed decades ago: farm subsidies, aid to Africa, busing, etc.
  1. In the free market, every man, woman and child is scheming to find a better way to make a product or service that will make a fortune!

7. “Here’s another telling chart, this one is from the World Bank. In 1820, 94% of people lived in extreme poverty. Thanks to capitalism, by 2015, that number had declined to 9.6%, single digits for the first time in human history. Now, it’s still too many, but if we are going to reduce the number even more, we need to understand what caused the decline: free-market capitalism.”
The Market Will Set You Free

extreme-poverty-trend-1024x616.png

“If we combine the Angus Madison hockey stick chart and the World Bank data on extreme poverty what we get is something quite amazing. Unprecedented global prosperity and an unprecedented decline in poverty - across the globe - over the past 200 years. That’s capitalism in a nutshell.” Op. Cit.

8. I heard a young man relate this college confrontation with his professor, a committed socialist:

“Professor, I got a D on the exam, and I admit I deserved it.”

He turned to the class, and asked, “Anyone get an A?”

When a young lady raised her hand, the student continued, “This is my friend, Karen, she studied a lot harder than I did, and she did a much better job than I did in picking parents,…but I think, professor, that you should change both of our grades to B. That would be educational justice!”

What an excellent deconstruction of socialism!

9. “Just for fun, find a Marxist professor- who scoffs at the idea that people work less if they lose the incentive of money- how he would feel if his name were not put on the academic articles he published. Instead the articles would be published under the name of another academic who needed the recognition more than he did.

After all…he would still have the satisfaction of having written the articles….His completely reasonable response would be that he earned’ the right to have his name on those articles, and denying him that measure of earned success is viciously unfair.

Exactly.”

Arthur Brooks, “The Road to Freedom,” p. 26.

10. "Prof. Jay Richards offers this helpful primer.

“Marx and his disciples claimed that ‘capitalism’ must give way to ‘socialism,’ where private property would be abolished and an all-powerful state would own everything on behalf of the people. That’s what Marx meant by the word socialism, and that’s the main dictionary definition.

“This was only supposed to be a stage, though, not the end of all our strivings. At some point, under socialism, people would lose their silly fondness for property, family, religion, and other evils. A ‘new socialist man’ would emerge and then the state would ‘wither away.’ Everyone would enjoy peace, prosperity, and the brotherhood of man. Marx and his acolytes called that final, stateless paradise ‘communism.’”

And how has that vision worked itself out in history?"
Michael Brown - 3 Reasons Why So Many Millennials Love Socialism

11. President John Kennedy, a Democrat, said it best, while making his case for significant tax cuts in 1963. He said, “A rising tide lifts all boats.” Kennedy didn’t believe that the poor only get richer only when the rich get poorer. He believed everyone could get richer with economic growth. History has shown that he was right.

This whole capitalism vs. socialism debate is backwards:

It’s not those who advocate for free-market capitalism who need to justify their actions. Rather, it’s those advocating for socialism or any form of it who have a lot of explaining to do.”

"Schweizer goes into more detail about the Biden's and their China dealings.

“The vice president is negotiating a bunch of very sensitive issues with the Chinese, including the South China Sea, trade, tech transfer, etc. Shortly after they return to the US, Hunter Biden’s firm receives a $1 billion private equity deal from the Chinese government We have no way of knowing how much Rosemont made on the deal because there are no disclosure requirements,” he said.

The Biden family's potential abuses of power doesn't end with China. They have also been facing allegations of potential illegal activities with Ukraine.

Early last week, Biden denied that his son Hunter Biden asked him for help in Ukraine after he got tangled in a mess while serving on the board at a Ukrainian energy company.

“We never once discussed it when he was there,” Biden said to the Associated Press. “There’s not a single bit of evidence that’s been shown in any reporting that’s been done that he ever talked about it with me or asked any government official for a favor.”

Check out what Breitbart reported:

When he was vice president, Joe Biden threatened to withhold $1 billion in loan guarantees for Ukraine if officials did not fire the country’s top prosecutor, who was pursuing a corruption investigation of an energy company while his son Hunter was serving on the board.

The connection was revealed in author Peter Schweizer’s best-selling book Secret Empires, and the reporting was confirmed in the New York Times.

Hunter Biden was paid as much as $50,000 per month while serving on the board, as his father led the Obama administration’s policy with Ukraine.

Biden’s “not a single bit of evidence” defense echoes former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s repeated assertion that there was no evidence of improper paybacks after she approved the Uranium One deal — despite receiving $145 million in pledges and donations for the Clinton Foundation.

Biden’s Ukraine connection made recent headlines after President Donald Trump’s personal attorney suggested he would travel to Ukraine to investigate the issue before ultimately deciding against it.

In the same interview with the Associated Press, Biden said that nothing his son did was inappropriate.

“All the reports indicated that not a single, solitary thing was inappropriate about what my son did. He never talked to me. He never talked to anybody in the administration,” Biden asserted.

Biden went on to defended his son.

“I have great confidence in my son,” he said. “He’s a man of great integrity.”

President Trump has taken notice of this growing scandal and has announced that investigators should take action.

In a recent interview with Steve Hilton of Fox News, President Trump announced that he thinks the Biden family should be investigated for their relations and financial ties with the Chinese government.

“One-hundred percent. It’s a disgrace. And then he says China’s not a competitor of ours. China is a massive competitor of ours. They want to take over the world." Trumps said."

Sometime you should do one supporting a position of a logical thought directed at people who absolute distrust both the right and the left. I never lost anything by not trusting anybody in sight.

New Documents Exposes Biden For Getting Tons Of Money From Foreign Oligarchs
Tariffs clearly distort markets, how economically illiterate are you? Look at what happened to farmers. Trump distorted the markets and then saved them with a socialist bailout. Don’t pretend to be for free markets, you and trump clearly aren’t.

Why are you lying about the reason for the tariffs?

Oh...because that's what you do.
It is a fact that tariffs are not free market and neither are you. You are a trumper, you don’t believe in free markets.
