My beef with the ruling is the court’s justification for the election ban:

She cannot run for president because there might be riots if she won? You realize that by that logic, Biden should not have run in 2020, nor Trump in 2016? The voters’ don’t get their pick because a vocal minority might turn into a violent mob? Is that Democracy?

That is the Heckler’s Veto taken to the extreme. One judge tells every French voter that they are only allowed to elect candidates of whom that judge approves.

If that were to happen, the lawfare would be ramped up and would proceed against as many future Republican contenders at all levels as Democrat judges and prosecutors could push through the system.

This isn't a Judge 'approved'... I would think that it is written in law that a ban like this was stated on the books...
Anti Corruption laws around politics are pretty strong and politicians know it. This was a small scam, it was large and went on for over a decade.
Europe is just very serious about Corruption, we think US is very lax...

In Europe they have bunch of funny reasons you can't be elected or take your seat in Parliament.
To take your seat in many countries you have to have tax clearance cert (i.e. have paid your taxes))
In the UK you have to swear an oath to the Crown...
