It is true that Macron does a lot of things out of political expediency. However, a lot of the "racist right" actually has some practical ideas for France. Le Pen addressed many valid concerns regarding the migrant situation that no other party wanted to touch, which is why she nearly won the election. Macron has since implemented some of the policies she endorsed.

People can scream racism all they want about immigration controls and desiring a certain amount of pride in their country, but to the average person, limiting immigration and having national pride aren't "racist."
