When UN tests became available, stocked up. Started testing everyone coming into the country from hot zones, doing follow up and tracing, as disease arrived, contact traced and tested everyone getting sick, and putting people in quarantine.

Asking everyone who returns to the country from abroad, and those arriving for business to self-quarantine for 14 days, and stocking up on PPE's, face shields, tests and treatments.

Canadians have all received their first round of pandemic funding. We have fewer than 25,000 cases total, 40% of which have already been resolved, and we're still only going up by about 1000 cases per day, all across the country, which means that even our curve is flattening.

The US has a different set of problems than Canada. NYC has 8m people in a very tight densely populated area.
Toronto has 6m but in a less densely populated area. Canada is about 1/10th the population of the US.
The US has the 14-day quarantine too. Factoring up your 25,000 by 10 gets to 250,000 which is about half the US 500,000. You Canucks must be better at avoiding spring break beach parties and the Mardi Gras than US folks.

I think it would have been much worse. Democrats care more about foreigners than they do Americans. It's likely no travel ban would have been issued until last week if that.
