Former Obama Staffer Claims Democrats Have Lost Their Way

He's positioning himself as a moderate. Few and far between in your party these days.

Yeah, but can Rahm win the nomination for prez as a moderate? I can see it happening down the road when the big dem donors get tired of losing and demand somebody less extreme. But right now, the Far Left is running the show over there and they ain't what you'd call reasonable. I can see a Far Lefty claiming to be moderate to get elected and then govern differently. One wonders how many times they can do that before it catches up with them. Can a moderate dem get nominated, win in the general, and then govern as a moderate? Hard to believe at this point.

If I had to guess right now they are going to elect the loon Newsom.

Although it looks like CBS is pushing MD Governor Wes Moore. THey had him for 20 minute infomercial on Face the Nation yesterday.

to the openly radical left-wing lunatics.

(also, not sure Obama and Clinton were in the same wing)
While Obama and Clinton weren't in the same wing, they had shared interests. They lost control during the Biden administration run by random staffers.
Also their TDS, which legitimizes anything as long as it was anti-TRUMP.

You are literally the only person who has ever mentioned that name.

the nation doesn't care.

I'm thinking that having a La- in front of random letters made him black, yes?

literally, no one.

Democratic voters will care. To them, Black Lives Matter.

It was actually a pretty horrific case, and when Biden nominated him to be Ambassador to Japan, a lot of people objected.

Rahm is a moderate Democrat with real ideas and is not just anti-Trump. Progressives are destroying the Democrat party and he is more concerned about connecting with average Americans.
The fact he is being praised by the Wingnuts is a good reason to NOT vote for him

A couple of points.

I think that the Democrats SHOULD go for someone more centrist next go around. Mark Kelly would probably be my first choice. I think they need to run away from the Commie Bernie wing as fast as possible. (And in the IL primary, the Bernie Bros got trashed by big money.)

Rahm, on the other hand, has LaQuan McDonald's corpse hanging around his neck like an albatross. He couldn't win a third term in Chicago because of it, and he won't play well nationally.

When a longtime Democratic heavyweight starts saying his own party “lost the plot,” it is not exactly a small, throwaway comment.

That is exactly what former Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel did, and he did not sugarcoat it.

During a recent podcast appearance, Emanuel basically said out loud what a lot of voters have been thinking for years, Democrats drifted away from everyday concerns and got tangled up in culture war distractions that do not pay the bills or fix broken schools.

Emanuel pointed directly at issues like “Latinx,” defunding the police, and broad accusations against law enforcement as examples of how the party veered off course.

His argument was not subtle. He said Democrats are “on the losing side of those cultural wars, full stop"

That is not exactly the kind of internal memo you send quietly, that is more like grabbing a megaphone and airing it out in public.

The education piece is where his criticism really hits hard.

Emanuel called out the fact that roughly half of students are not reading at grade level, while political energy is being spent on debates over bathroom policies and locker rooms.

His point was simple, and frankly hard to argue with, if the basics are falling apart, maybe fix those first.

He even pushed back when someone suggested the party could juggle both priorities, saying the results already show they cannot.

BJ -

The hard, crazy left has taken over the party.
His positions used to be on the extreme left side, the party rushed off the cliff past him.
There's no going back .. they are toast.. 🙂

Suckholing Iranian leadership and hoping for U.S Militarily deaths .. that's treason..
.

Good point. Looking back at the effort and funds already tossed at the problem, if the Democrats want to be relevant again, it needs to begin with them fixing their prior "fixes".
