Former GOP. Rep who once voted against the Affordable Care act becomes paralyzed in accident and is asking for $2.5 million on GoFundMe

Correct. A polo player begging for money. Trump has set the example.
Not sure your point, you think because he is a polo player that he shouldn't ask for help with the millions of dollars it's gonna take to live?

Is there some kind of hypocrisy alleged in the post? Oprah Winfree got a million dollars for pretending to support Kamala. Why does the left begrudge some GOP politician a lousy 120 g's in go fund me donations?

If the ACA was so great, why would he be asking for donations?
My guess is that he’s uninsured as those medical bills would eclipse out of pocket maximums for any policy.

Good thing you guys got rid of the individual mandate.

How is that any different from a man who is drunk and falls off the sidewalk and becomes paralyzed from his fall.

I think a polo player and retired government representative should have been wealthy and educated enough to buy private insurance sufficient to cover such a tragic accident. Why else would one be Republican. Don't get sick. If you do get sick, die quickly. There's no "charity" in that plan. There's no "ask for help." Who are you trying to fool? Yourself it seems.

So, it's charity for a Republican, but welfare if he was a Democrat.

No, it is charity if people willingly give him money out of the goodness of their hearts. It is welfare if the government forcefully takes it from taxpayers and gives him money. Glad I could clear that up for you.
