Alright. This^^ is a fair question, Mac.

Putin is kind of cool . . . in a Dracula is cool but you never ever really want to meet him even in your dreams kind of cool. In a should Americans volunteer for Putin's brand of cool manner of speaking? Hell no. Putin is what Russia needed to survive and recover. Russian culture and history is extremely different from its American counterpart. When Russian "mature" people speak of a return to the old ways, they aren't talking about democracy or rule by Constitution. We're talking Stalin in the house of cards on their table. Putin was a necessary evil, a lesser of several, a throwback of the times and a retronym for Tsarist "good" old days.

Look. The radical Left terrifies me. The radical Right terrifies other Americans. From what I can gather, the polarity disconnect between Right and Left in America today seem to terrify you. But do you really believe tens of millions of Americans are ready for an American Putin? And, no, I do not believe our POTUS is even in the same Atmospheric layer as Putin, or even in the same orbit.

Well, since you're being civil and I can appreciate that, here's what I really think about this stuff.

I think much of the Right, principally Trump supporters, has been driven into such a frenzy of binary thought patterns that (a) it's possible they REALLY WOULD prefer Putin over a Democrat, or (b) they literally can't bring themselves to admit otherwise. That's profound to me, and disturbing.

And for the record, I'm no fan of the hardcore Left, either. I take a ton o' shit every day here from those I call the Regressive Left, the illiberal leftist authoritarian thugs who have taken over the Democratic party. These guys know this quite well.
