Link does not mean verified or proven. Further, if he is proven to be a member of a white supremacist group, were his actions the ones that started all of the burning and looting in Minneapolis? How about St. Louis, Denver, Chicago, Washington, Boston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle???

This turned into a long thread with some insightful observations.

However, the one post that I think encapsulates the too common fringie end of the Trump phenomena is the one quoted above ....posted by poster Redfish.

Now, I could be persuaded that the individual behind that avatar is a good productive citizen and well regarded by his community and family.

But, I also am skeptical that he (she?) is any of that. In fact, to assert no cops were injured seems to indicate a level of obtuseness, or alternatively, a degree of partisan-blindness that would hinder someone from being well regarded. By family. By community. By church. By colleagues.

Well, that depends. If said person carefully existed within their own small reality, they would be regarded as highly as anyone else. And that's precisely what has happened here.

I say it all the time: This is literally a separate, isolated, insulated, fully self-contained informational and cultural ecosystem.

This is far bigger than politics now. This is cultural, sociological, anthropological. And that's why I personally remain so interested by it. My interest in this is not political.

This is a danger this country has never seen, and I'm not really sure if it has EVER been seen at this scale.
