Footballs and hockey were FAR worse in the 1990s. Football today is a shadow of it's old physical game and I've been ok with that. Some fans don't like it, that's because they aren't the one being hit.

And also because the real game of Soccer is beyond the skills set of the vast majority of American youngsters .
Although the US performance at the recent World Cup showed good promise .

With more Americans coming to our Premier league to learn , we can begin to look forward to the American Red Neck version of Soccer slowly disappear .

Not really. Hard hits yes, but I don't think anyone is hoping for a serious injury. Hard is relative, it all depends on how tough you are and whether you can take it.

It's a full contact sport, that's why they wear padding and protection.
