Trump talked repeatedly about runaway grocery prices during the campaign, pledging that if elected, paying over $4 for a carton of eggs would be a thing of the past. "When I win, I will immediately bring prices down, starting on Day 1," he pledged.


But after winning reelection, Trump shrugged that it would be "hard" to bring grocery prices down "once they're up." Now, just days into his new administration, egg prices remain high and are likely to go higher. As it turns out, anyone who cast their vote thinking the president could unilaterally change grocery prices was buying into a fantasy.

Quite a stretch there. Not surprising, but a really long stretch anyway. Anyone who takes seriously every word a politician says, yes even TRUMP!, deserves to be disappointed. Anyone who literally trusts every word a politician says, yes even TRUMP!, deserves to be disappointed. And yes, democrats lie like everyone else does. It's incredibly amusing watching the usual suspects ranting on about a statement TRUMP! made that he later admitted wasn't feasible to do. Obviously, they don't care about politicians being held to a standard, only SOME need be held to one.

You want to keep politicians honest? Form a coalition of millions of voters that insist every promise made has to be kept and very word uttered has to be true or the politician won't get your vote. In addition, should said politician violate those standards, you will as a group demand their ouster from their seat in government. In fact, let's have all the Christians in the US form a voting bloc and insist that they will only vote for the Godliest of candidates. That would go a long way towards the goal. Of course, the usual suspects would have a massive flipout, screaming about a theocracy and demanding the Christians not be allowed to do such a thing.

Oh, it matters, and the administration needs to do what it can to address it and accomplish their economic goals without kicking it into high gear again, especially stop pumping money into the economy if it doesn't really need stimulating. That's their challenge. They need to identify and cut waste and eliminate unnecessary programs, things that might be nice to have and do, but not when the country is facing trillions in debt. Oh, wait, they are doing that, so good for them.

Again, my experience has been that all throughout the entire Quid Pro Joe administration, when it was a prime opportunity for the usual suspects to actually care about something instead of exercising power, all they could do was launch "but, but, but TRUMP!" ad nauseum. Had you said we needed to deal with Joe's inflation you might have some credibility to attack others.

Within several months we will start to see relief one way or the other. The Progs who care withing several months of their promises and agendas caused pain and suffering and Joe's I did that was on the gas pumps. And that led to the current inflation as Progs kept passing legislation that printed up fiat currency. They were told and saw it and denied it. Still do.
