Cummings says documents prove Mike Flynn lied on his security clearance

"Rep. Cummings (D-Md.) released a letter Monday detailing the documents he says prove President Trump’s former national security advisor Mike Flynn lied to security clearance background check.

The senior Democrat on the House Oversight Committee sent a letter to Rep. Jason Chaffetz, chair of that committee, relating those discrepancies.

“The Oversight Committee has in our possession documents that appear to indicate that General Flynn lied to the investigators who interviewed him in 2016 as part of his security clearance renewal,” the letter read."

If true, Flynn broke the law and should be prosecuted for making false statements. If proven true, it appears Flynn's only defense that would prevent his indictment and prosecution would be the 'Hillary' defense - claiming he was too stupid to know he was breaking the law.

If indicted, perhaps Flynn should hire Comey as his lawyer since Comey did such a good job keeping Clinton from going to prison.

Mike Flynn did not LIE on any forms. He is too smart and too honest. At WORST, he provided a Clintonesque Truth, easily defensible in court. The questions pertain to his activities as a private citizen versus his activities in an official capacity, versus his activities in quasi-official status, before his appointment was effective. Same with Senator Sessions. He met with Russian officials as part of his Senate duties, not as part of his activities connected with the Trump campaign. No lies there, either.

As with everything else with Leftists: Let them define the terms, and they can make anyone look guilty. We all know what a "lie" is, and Flynn did not lie.

It should be remembered that Cummings made an aggressive attempts to end the Committee investigation into the IRS targeting scandal...just days before it was revealed Cummings was ass-deep in it. He sent Lerner a list of questions - 'excessive scrutiny' - he wanted Conservative Groups only to answer before they were given tax exempt status. According to reports the IRS used his questions almost word-for-word in their scrutiny of Conservative groups.

Cummings was trying to end the investigation before it was revealed he was involved.
