That movie traumatized me and i was an adult. He comes from my state. I'll tell you- his house years ago really was as creepy as his looks!

Seriously?
I mean, I'm not a huge fan of his later work (I think he peaked around the time he wrote "the Stand") but banning them seems kinda extreme. I don't see how they qualify as "woke" either.

Gracie- I never knew he had that garbage in his books. Read one book- long ago and couldn't hardly get thru it.My comment about King is my personal opinion. Book banning is quite another opinion that is too much to type out since I am lazy. I guess it is up to the parent or teacher to pay attention what ages are checking out certain books from libraries. Especially parents. You know. The two that are supposed to pay attention. Otherwise, books should be left alone. Kinda like free speech.
No. His horror movies pretty much suck too. Well, except Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption. Oh, and The Mist. Most everything else is not worth watching and he, himself, is probably a pedo since he likes writing about child torture and animal torture. Bet he gets a woody as his warped mind thinks up that shit while furiously typing it down for a new book.Gracie- I never knew he had that garbage in his books. I thought the writing style was simple and boring. His Plots make a good horror movie , I guess?
I didn't know that. personally can't stand him.No. His horror movies pretty much suck too. Well, except Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption. Oh, and The Mist. Stephen King writes porn? This has a misleading thread title.
The books are not banned.
Democrat parents can still buy pornograhy for their children.
Normal parents just don't want porn available to children in the school libraries.
Ayup. It's a slippery slope.The problem with banning books is it can lead to the following;
Book Burning - Photograph
On May 10, 1933, Nazi students at universities across Germany pillaged and burned books they claimed were “un-German.” The targeted books were those they deemed contrary to Nazi goals and beliefs. The book burnings are an example of the regime's eff...encyclopedia.ushmm.org
Ten years later they were burning other 'banned objects' in the pits just a few yards N/W of krema 5 in Birkenau.
One must be careful when dealing with bans on objects as 'many' bans are politically motivated & if it's politically motivated it's then also psychologically addictive! Like one ban today could lead to a hundred or more bans tomorrow! Just amazing how human history just keeps repeating itself isn't it?!
He doesn't spread harmful lies that lead to mass death.
In 6th grade I noticed a girl reading IT. For some years I thought King wrote mostly for girls. I eventually got around to reading some of his books in my 30s.

This misses the point.
The issue is government excess and overreach, the use of the authority of the state to advance a political agenda based on disinformation and lies.
Schools are compelled to enact such bans pursuant to state law:
‘"Florida HB 1069's complex and overbroad provisions have created chaos and turmoil across the state, resulting in thousands of historic and modern classics, works we are proud to publish, being unlawfully labeled obscene and removed from shelves," Dan Novack, vice president and associate general counsel of Penguin Random House, said in a statement.’
