Floriduh bans 23 Stephen King novels.

King sucks. I loathe him and his disgusting mind. His books ALWAYS have weird child abuse shit in them. From carving the buttocks off a child (Black House) to animal torture (It) to children having an orgy to fight amonster (IT again) to anything else that is gross...it's in his book.

Liked The Stand, did ya? Know what is a better book and better writer? Robert McGammon. Swan Song beats The Stand 10 times over. Stinger is a great book. Wolfs hour, They Thirst, many more. If you haven't read Swan Song..give it a go. You won't be sorry.

There is no scene in the book regarding Bev inviting the boys to an orgy in "It".
Beverly decides to have sexual intercourse with all the boys from the Losers Club.

She decides to do this as it allows them to remember the way back so they can make it home. Essentially, her logic was that by taking this step they'd lose their innocence and become adults (and thus not the prey Pennywise wanted), and in the process, he'd lose his influence over them too. Despite the narrative reasoning, it doesn't change the fact that Beverley and the Losers Club are eleven years old. Stephen King's IT sewer scene was the result of a creative decision that ended up being extremely controversial, and still looms over the book decades later.

The Stephen King IT sewer orgy scene is obviously very controversial, and as previously mentioned, Stephen King has addressed it. There's absolutely no way that the scene could've made it into the movie, nor should anyone want it to be there, as the film already contains graphic scenes of child abuse and mutilation. As mentioned, the author took to his own message board in 2013 to further discuss the scene, and likened it to a passageway from childhood into adulthood.

Reminds of all the conservative idiots in the 1950s who wanted to ban comic books as immoral.

Of course, since many of these comic book readers are now Trumpers, they may have had a point.

Knowing American teenagers now that the books are banned they will get their hands on them and read and pass them among themselves. When I was a teen they tried book banning in orange county and put a list in the local paper and reported on the news on Sunday on Monday at school a lot of were walking around school with a copy of the banned books. We just pass each other in the school hall hold it up to each other and smile.

Yep, kids have always been this way. Back in 1980 Ozzy was coming to were I was going to high school and less than 1/3 of the tickets sold in the first few weeks. Then some mother found out about his music and his bat biting act and tried to get him banned. Tickets sold out in less than a day.

Seriously?

I mean, I'm not a huge fan of his later work (I think he peaked around the time he wrote "the Stand") but banning them seems kinda extreme. I don't see how they qualify as "woke" either.

King himself has commented

Was he banned from social media too like Trump or anyone speaking out against the Vaxx?

Leftists do love to brainwash the young. it's best to nip it in the bud.
The Shining, Christine, It, Salem's Lot, and several of his short story novellas are really quite excellent. Not really seeing how the Shining is "brainwashing" the young.

“I have an idea,” Beverly said quietly. In the dark, Bill heard a sound he could not immediately place. A whispery little sound, but not scary. Then there was a more easily place sound… a zipper. What—? he thought, and then he realised what. He was undressing. For some reason, Beverly was undressing.
Speaking to Vulture, King’s agent added another note from the author: “To it, I’d just add that it’s fascinating to me that there has been so much comment about that single sex scene and so little about the multiple child murders. That must mean something, but I’m not sure what.”

I don't see why a school library needs Stephen King books.

Really, in education, books need to be APPROPRIATE and I can't see how Stephen King books are, ESPECIALLY if they have sexual content.

Kids can get these books outside of school, fine.

Same with the Bible, doesn't need to be in a school, but if kids want to read it at home, fine.
This misses the point.

The issue is government excess and overreach, the use of the authority of the state to advance a political agenda based on disinformation and lies.

Schools are compelled to enact such bans pursuant to state law:

‘"Florida HB 1069's complex and overbroad provisions have created chaos and turmoil across the state, resulting in thousands of historic and modern classics, works we are proud to publish, being unlawfully labeled obscene and removed from shelves," Dan Novack, vice president and associate general counsel of Penguin Random House, said in a statement.’

He wrote horror stories. Kids being tortured and killed fits the horror label. He may still be a sick bastard, but that may pass as normal for horror writers and many readers. He wrote manically during his addiction years.

He has also spoken against Trump, so just that could be enough to piss off red state parents.

There are school boards in the U.S. that are responsible for terrorizing young girls by allowing confused boys in their locker rooms and showers. Some school boards apparently authorize the castration and mutilation of children without parental permission. Meanwhile the left worries about Stephen King books.

Please cite the school board that can authorize the castration and mutilation of children, without or WITH parental approval.

On a lark I looked up the kid's old high school and was able to get the catalog online. 1. that is so cool; 2. They have a music library which is so cool; and 3. They have Stephen Kind - including Pet Sematary.

Were you in a freaking coma when California passed a law in July that allowed school boards to drug and coerce kids into "sexual reassignment" without parental notification?

PLease cite where any school board in the US can authorize "the castration and mutilation of children, without or WITH parental approval." You did not. Please do so. You won't be able to. Schools cannot authorize medical procedures.

Masked Palestinian demonstrators are terrorizing Jewish students in universities all over the Country. The point is that Stephen King books in Florida is a trivial issue in comparison but it's all the left has these days.
