Is the inevitable failure of progressive redistribution, eat the rich economics behind both Flint's failure to provide potable water and Venezuela's inability to provide electricity?

If not, why not and who is to blame?

The news for Socialists (i.e. Democrats) is that life ain't easy...and Government can't make it easy. Life requires Personal Responsibility, and Individual Accountability...and the Government can't relieve people of that, at least not without going broke.

Jeffersonian Ideals, like merit, hard work, the profit incentive, self-reliance--made this the greatest society ever on the planet...which does not mean it is perfect. An inherent vice to the best system yet constructed is greed--which may well be out of control on Wall Street in the Heart of Liberal Land...and it may be that the Democratically controlled Federal District Attorney's office in New York ought to indict some people...and it might be they don't because they are OWNED by Wall Street---like Hillary Clinton.

But the answer for the Wall Street Crooks, or for the Lazy-Assed Democratic Free Stuff Crowd is NOT Socialism...as has been proven time and time again.

Your comparison is apt. The problem with Venezuela, Flint, Detroit, Chicago, and other rotting cities all over the North is the same...sorry Socialist/Democrat politicians who have taught lazy bastards to think the Government is supposed to provide for all their needs...for every whim...with no contribution whatsoever from themselves.

The government is to blame.

Who you callin' "progressive?"
"LANSING — Fortune magazine asked its readers on Wednesday to rank the 'world's 19 most disappointing leaders' and placed Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder atop the ballot for his role in the Flint drinking water public health crisis."

Are you still hoping to run government like a business?

Flint's water crisis happened AFTER the Republicans took over Flint.

Why are there still people who don't know that?

Are u saying we should leave water and electricity to pure capitalism ?

I don't think that is what is being said at all. I think its the opposite.

We shouldn't leave it to Socialists is what I get.

Do you think the Jeffersonians who built this great Republic would have tolerated the rotting lead pipes that are in every rotting Socialist/Democrat Run City in the North?

Detroit used to be known as the Paris of the West.

Democrats took over HALF A CENTURY ago and now and it is like a collection of hovels in Uganda. Capitalism didn't do that...Democrats did.
