So you're saying it's Fake News that you probably did a good job.

No wonder no one likes you.

Why are you having such trouble talking to your fellow trumptards?

You guys, trumptards, speak the same language, but when it comes to 'Education Talk' they don't want to hear any of it.

You probably did a fantastic job, but not to the Cult.
They will never accept anything a teacher does.

It is odd that he usually marches in lock step with the cult but has a difference with them when it comes to education. He seems to be smart enough to realize MAGA is not his friend, but perhaps not.

I said, you probably did a good job.

He's such a trump cuck that he gave me a "Fake News"
Can't please these idiots.

I have very rarely found myself "in lock step" with anyone (except about how delicious my wife's cooking is). That's why half the loony leftists here keep calling me "nazi," and the nuts who want to imagine themselves conservatives call me "liberal" or "globalist." Call me what you want. I believe what I believe, I know what I know, I have experienced what I have experienced, and I have a hearty "**** you" for ANYONE who deserves it. For people who come to the education forum and try to troll it up with ignorance or political shit: **** YOU. :fu:

I suggest you go back and reread what you have posted. Whether intended or not, your allegiance to the MAGA cult god is consistently unmistakable.

Do you always just make shit up as "proof" of your points?

It is quite tiresome.
Yes. Yes, he does.
It agrees with my experience in a school full of immigrants from nearly every nation on earth. Most were reasonably fluent within a semester and fully fluent within a year. That was before ESL programs existed.
Never contradict unk, he KNOWS ALL! Just ask him.

Also wrong. Adults learn languages much more quickly than children (aside from certain aspects of phonetics), but children tend to be more successful in reaching real fluency because they have far fewer demands on their time and attention and are much less self conscious about trial and error in language use. Their affective filter is much thinner than an adult's.

I've never coached professional football either, but I can tell a good coach from a shitty one.
Well, I coached football and I bet I can tell better than you! There are several dozen teacher wannabes in this forum and all they do is show their own ignorance, time and again.

"Diversity" is not a strength. Historically, foreign language students were pretty much left to sink or swim on their own in English, and guess what happened? They almost invariably were functionally fluent within a school year. Catering to their different linguistic background holds them back, and teaches the insidious message that they don't have to assimilate.

Unity is strength. You are doing these kids no favors by catering to their diverse linguistic backgrounds. And I hope you are inculcating the message that they should be proud to be Americans.

Adults learn the language more slowly as a general rule but kids brains are much more receptive, and that should be exploited.
I believe Unkatore is teaching them English. How can one teach English to someone only fluent in another language? I mean, wouldn't one need to communicate in their language to teach them another language?

A lot of people say that, but there are many ways of bridging the gap. That's the job. Under some circumstances it's even harder than you are probably thinking.

Wow. So wrong.

Wow. So wrong.
So you are saying, without living it, my personal experience is wrong? I saw it validated from the second grade to the twelfth grade. Of course, the difference between when I went to school and now is that the non-English speaking minorities, be they Asian or Latino, were a minority in the classes, and they learned from total immersion. If they wanted to speak to anyone, they had to do it in English, their schoolwork was in English, there were no tutors to help them in their native languages, so they learned fast and they learned well.

This is how I know your "memories" are incorrect. The fact of the matter is that strategic use of a student's L1 can significantly hasten a more complete acquisition of an L2. This has been known to linguists for a long time now.
