first woman you thought was hot

...And, Tina is the only one still alive. Ginger actually had a pretty hot body under all those sequinned gowns, just that they never let her show any skin so you could ever really get any size of it.

But if you watched very close, Ginger showed just enough hints here and there that you could tell she would have looked pretty good in a bikini.

But I found Ginger's 'Marylin Monroe' glamor-pus self-centered personality always squeeling and blowing kisses to be a big turnoff.

She spent half her time trying to attract attention and men, then the rest of her time running away anytime any one of them actually responded showing any interest back.

Then they became a "Wolf."
After reading a lot of back stories about Tina Louise...................when she played "Ginger" was pretty much just being herself, except friendly about it all.

Behind the scenes, it has been said from many people that were behind the scenes on the show, that she was aloof, and hated to interact with anybody when the cameras weren't rolling. She still holds a hostile resentment for being lied to so badly, for them to get her on the show, that she basically WAS a diva ***** behind the camera.

I can't blame her though. The way they got her on the show was heinous.

Here's another of my teenage fantasy icons:
Elizabeth Montgomery of Bewitched fame.
The premise was that she was a witch and when she twitched her nose, magic happened.
I know one thing: when she twitched her nose, a part of me twitched too.

I guess the professor must have invented a solar or fire-fed oven to bake with, but they never showed it.

I wonder how you make a cast iron Chambers cooking stove out of bamboo and coconut leaves?
Being an ex-baker/cook............I've pondered on this over the decades.

I can only come to the conclusion that she made these all by hand, with dried coconut flakes, hand whipped coconut milk, and other dried fruit ground up to make a crust.....probably dried bananas.

What was the saying back then, when Bewitched was on the air?

Kids wanted her for a mother, women wanted to be like her, and men wanted to be married to her.
She had EVERYBODY on the hook for one reason or another!!! And I am certainly NO exception!!!

Hell, I have the whole Bewitched series on DVD!!!!

True. Tina was very not a part with the rest of the cast. When they did a movie remake of Gilligan, she refused to participate and they had to bring some other girl in to play Ginger.

Tina thought she had a pretty good career going before Gilligan and that the show ruined her career. But then, several others were very skeptical of the show too including Backus and maybe Natalie.

Apparently she somehow believed she was to be the star of the show even though it was GILLIGAN'S Island, so I'm guessing they told her some tall tales to get her signed.

BTW, you do know that Gilligan was really a school teacher in real life.

Their boat the SS Minnow, Minnow was actually a head exec at CBS (not the minnow fish) who hated the show and they named the wrecked boat after him just to stick it to him.

Not to mention all the clothing and gear that the Howell's, Ginger and the Prof. brought along for a "three hour tour." LOL

Other than Mary Ann, I lived to see what invention or device the Professor would whip up each week.

I've often wanted to compile a list of all the stuff those 7 passengers must have brought on board ship with them for that 3 hour cruise to account for all of the books and lab equipment Professor had, the cases full of money, pills and jewelry the Howells had. We won't even go into the three fashion changes each episode--- all except the Skipper and Gilligan who had nothing but the clothes on their back--- one red shirt and one blue shirt.

I can’t read each post. But has anyone mentioned Angela Cartwright?

And has anyone mentioned the beautiful agent from the British spy service “Mrs. Peele?”

Billy Mumy had the hots for her. They used to pal around on the LIS set exploring the studio and Billy thought she was a goddess. Soon as he was old enough to drive, he took Angela out for a drive in his car and they ended up in the backseat.

15th post
OK, I came across a photo in my computer quite by accident of another childhood hottie that I better include now before I forget.

In the latter 60's when I was approaching the advent of my first teens and my glands were starting to percolate, I used to anguish over Goldie Hawn on Laugh-In, especially when she danced in her bikini under black light covered in body paint!

No red-blooded male (and not too many females) could turn this dish down.

Yes, they promised Tina the show would center around her (not Gilligan), she would be the main star, and a few other details I don't remember. But they led her to believe this was going to be HER show exclusively. And it turned out not to be. So, again, I don't blame her one bit for being bitter till the very end.
