This time around, though, we had athletes actually announcing their intentions to protest. They weren't competing to prove they were the best in the world. They were competing so they could have an opportunity to protest on the world's largest stage: The Olympic Games.
Not everything is political, nor should it be. Those who insist on that, however, will be the sole reason why the things they're protesting for will never be realized. People have had it with their bullshit and are saying that enough is enough. When you have a chorus of cheers coming from the very countrymen of those who lost, there's a very real problem, and that problem's not with those cheering.
