I won't go into Mr Trump's diplomatic skills. But I doubt that someone with an ego as large as his would 'cower' to anyone. He'd probably want to tell God what He was doing wrong.

Relations with Russia are very important for us. And pursuing our national interest does not just mean staying armed to the teeth, although it does mean that as well.

A good model for American Presidents to follow is Richard Nixon -- no liberal, and not even a principled conservative.

I recall my mild shock, when seeing him on television, speaking to the Russian people (as I recall) saying "The Russians are a great nation." Whoa! Tricky Dick, the hardline anti-Communist, the guy who McCarthyed a nice liberal out of her Congressional seat to start his career?

But he was shrewd. He understood how to flatter when it was necessary.

I think one reason for DeSantis' current silence is that - as Governor of FL (the state where Trump resides), he would have to be the one to sign off on any extradition to the State of New York.

Last I read the stats, the Russians were at 140 million people; but they've been depopulating since and drink like fish. I'm thinking let the Europeans, who outnumber them three to one, deal with the Russians.
