Don't fall for the Georgia hype. They haven't built a dynasty yet. 2 national Championships is great. But they have only beaten us once in recent years, and lost 4.

2022 was a down year. But if going 11-2 and destroying the #9 team in a bowl game is the lowest, that is still an ongoing dynasty.

Sorry, dude, but Kirby Smart is beating you guys in the recruiting game in the areas where you used to be the only game in town. Don't feel bad - he's done the same to Florida, lol.

Shame he is not beating us on the field. He is 1-4 against Saban.

Reminds me of people who say the clippers are the best basketball team in LA because the lakers haven’t beat them in forever.

But who’s still in the playoffs? And when’s the last time clippers won a championship?

Who's won the national championship the last 2 years? It ain't Saban. I wouldn't count on Alabama winning the SEC West either. LSU beat them last year and that was year 1 of Brian Kelly. They're better now, as is Auburn.

We will see when the season starts. The defense is looking tough, and we have a wealth of skill players.

Kool Aid is a good start. He was the only Bama DB with any speed last year....

Raiders are trying to tap into the Texas Tech Magic in the AFC West

Hope his foot heals. He is a great player if it does.

Why did the Lion's get a F for this pick?

Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama

We traded Swift our current running back. Not sure I like what we got in exchange though. But maybe this kid is better?

Lions trade Swift and a seventh-round pick (No. 249) to the Philadelphia Eagles for a 2025 fourth-round pick and a seventh-round pick in this year's draft (No. 219).

Why didn't we just keep Swift and pick someone better???

Also, please tell me about this guy. Is he any good?

  • Round 2, Pick 45 overall (from GB)
    Brian Branch, S, Alabama
Safety

Branch is a very good safety. Good speed. Great motor. And is a ball hawk.

Hold your breath, calm down, and repeat after me...

Drafts are graded 3 years out. Whether Gibbs succeeds or fails is undetermined. Parroting Draft "gurus" is parroting, not thinking...

As for Speed the Raiders got one 4.37 40 and two 4.4 40
guys

The Raiders got CB Azizi Hearn undrafted - great score - may be their best CB on the roster now.

Also, please tell me about this guy. Is he any good?

When the Vols tried him deep, he was always there to defend it or pick it off... well, maybe not...

When Duece Vaughn got lose, he caught him from behind... no wait, that was Kool Aid...

I will cheer for the Lions. Like the coach and the tude. But, yeah, some of those picks were not my favorites, but it still is just MY OPINION NOW, not reality.

1. Should we have traded our pick? Do you think we got enough in exchange for giving up the 6th pick?

2. What do you think the Lions needed? I like picking good OT's, DT's, Defensive Backs,

3.
One involved the Detroit Lions, who sent the No. 6 and No. 81 pick to the Arizona Cardinals for picks No. 12, No. 34 and No. 168.

What the Lions did with pick No. 12 and No. 18 was even more surprising, selecting Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs and Iowa linebacker Jack Campbell, who both went way before their projected draft range.

So we passed on a lot of guys who the experts all say were better than these guys.

4. Can you explain to me how we benefited from trading down? We give up the 6th and 81 to get 12, 34, 168? Was that wise? Maybe that makes sense if there is still a lot of talent out there when you pick 12 and 34.

I love it when people who know a lot give me the scoop. I've been listening to Sports radio to hear what they think.

I heard the Lion's WILL win our division next year. The Vikings and Bears might have something to say about that. I can't wait.

Both are good players. I do a "draft" in real time for a ficticious expansion team every year. I traded down from 48 to 50 (an actual Draft day trade) and whiffed on Keeanu Benton, who went to Pitt at 49. It happens, and it is all fun (especially if you don't really have a team). When you get a good player and your coach likes him, hard to complain. Campbell is a three down LB and likely will call the entire defense.

One player I really like is Det Lions undrafted RB Mohamed Ibrahim of Minnesota. Watch his tape on Youtube.

He is "small" (210)and "slow" (not really) and injured (last surgery 2021 so 2022 is clean, he did not get hurt) but he is so shifty and quick and strong and low in the hole and reads blocking extremely well, and is very hard to tackle. He regularly pops runs where he should be down early. He tore his Achilles against Ohio State in 2021 opener. He was KILLING Ohio State before that injury.

I spent a 7th on him in my fiction draft. The Lions gave him a premium undrafted contract - hopefully a great score. Him and Gibbs are a nice rotation. Gibbs has great speed.

Several players I really liked went UND. It is what the NFL knows and you don't that is the problem. They know the Combine MRIs and whether there is something wrong medically, who failed the drug test, who has a criminal history etc.

Time will tell. One of my favorite players that I had a FIFTH round grade on was Notre Dame's #3 TE a few years ago, a measly $10k undrafted for Detroit - Brock Wright. Love him... what VALUE... excellent blocker with that deep speed to shock a defense DEEP after blocking for 20 straight plays.
