First, whether they did or didn't, I imagine it would be impossible for the Layman to know as nations avoid escalations by denying, saving face of the attacked nation so that they aren't cornered into more action. Both countries most certainly would know if this plane was attacked once the debris is investigated, if they don't already know. Even if it wasn't, what are their motives for the communist party of China constantly harassing Taiwan?

To anyone who thinks that this election doesn't matter and all of us screaming "China!" are as bad as those screaming "Russia!". Consider, fights with India, the reneging of the H.K deal with the U.K, the expansion of South China Sea, and the demands that Taiwan not be allowed even to be in the W.H.O even as they dealt with the Wuhan Virus better than anyone (what is China afraid of?).

All of this, on top of economic activities and espionage.

Yes, 2020 REALLY matters.

Taiwan denies shooting down Chinese Su-35 fighter jet after crash footage

TAIWAN was today forced to deny it had shot down a Chinese fighter jet after video emerged online showing the "wreckage of a burning plane."

Multiple Twitter users had claimed a 1,600mph Sukhoi Su-35 was downed in the Chinese city of Guilin after "violating Taiwanese air space."
