Female Collegiate Fencer Stephanie Turner Expelled From Tournament For Refusing To Compete Against Biological Male

What a fucked up world we live in when men can compete in women sports.
There are sports where both compete together, but if this one is broken out there is a reason.

Action shooting matches generally don't separate. They may have an award for best female but its not a big thing. I think skeet is separated though.

On April 2, 2025, a significant controversy erupted in the world of collegiate fencing when Stephanie Turner, a female fencer from the Fencing Academy of Philadelphia, was disqualified from a tournament in Maryland. Turner took a knee and refused to compete against Redmond Sullivan, a biological male who identifies as transgender and was permitted to participate in the women’s division under USA Fencing’s current policies.

Redmond Sullivan, a biological male who identifies as transgender, was permitted to compete in the women’s tournament under USA Fencing regulations, the organization told The Daily Wire. Previously, Sullivan competed in the men’s division but transitioned to female fencing, securing the top title at the Connecticut Division Junior Olympic Qualifiers last year, according to the media.

Good for her. More women need to do this.

As a society we need to stop enabling trans "women" in women's sports.
USA Fencing needs to reprioritize.

Yeah, as a former fencer I can absolutely say men have a huuuuge advantage in fencing over women.

We are faster, far stronger, and have better stamina.

And when you can find ways to improve your brain speed , I feel sure that there will come a time when you can successfully compete against us .
So often we let you think that you have won to avoid the consequences of bruised egos .

This is where all sides need to understand how creation works and sometimes glitches.
All of us? Really?

And we’ve waited all our mostly middle aged and beyond lives for pknopp to enlighten us?
I'm not understanding how some are unable to understand that creation is not perfect and it does glitch. People can accept that people are born not able to see which is not of the norm but unable to grasp that creation can glitch in other forms also.

Things not readily to see can glitch also.

Those with these issues also must understand that these glitches can set them apart from others in other ways also. Yes they were born with an issue that makes it so their mind or whatever you want to describe it as doesn't align with what their body tell society.

That can put them at a huge advantage over those who don't have these issues. My best equation here would be to note how a 210 lb man doesn't wrestle a 145 lb man. While the persons mind might align with the other opponent here, their body make up does not.

It is something we need to work out but it has to be done with understanding on all parts and without the hate that emanates from so many.

Even the Bible (Jesus) notes that not all are born the same.

For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let the one who is able to receive this receive it."

Matthew 19:12

So while the person who does not mesh with their body must have understanding, so do those who have this glitch must understand that does not make them on par with those that do.
Can’t argue with that, I guess.

But how does that enlighten us on the question of whether biological males should be allowed to compete in girls and women’s sports?

That's how people used to describe those who were left handed.

IE people who freak over anything that doesn't perfectly align with their mindset.
So in your mind, is there anyone with a mental illness?

So in your mind, is there anyone with a mental illness?
Yes, in his mind, any who sees a problem with biological males pummeling women and girls in the name of “sport” has a mental illness called “transphobia.”

Other than that, no,

So in your mind, is there anyone with a mental illness?

Things can happen which are not related to being created. PTSD can likely be considered a mental illness. IMO.

Is anorexia a delusion?

I'm no expert here. IMO completely non expert opinion that likely derives from things the person has been told "You are too fat".

Through mental health professionals many can overcome that.

But the person is clearly not fat, but the body identity of the person still thinks he/she is fat. Is that a mental illness?

Again, from what little I know about it, it comes about because of things that happen after birth.

If Karen Carpenter had simply been a house wife, would she have had her issues?

My wife was heavier as a kid. She recalls being called a "Horsey girl". With the onset of puberty she shot up. From her remarks, the remarks when she was a kid bothered her.

Do the circumstances matter when it comes to mental illness? If an anorexic woman sees herself as fat, she is delusional, regardless of circumstance.

Sure. If a neighborhood had an elderly guy that ran around town after painting himself orange, the people would likely consider him mentally ill.

She see's herself as that because it's what she has been told.

That is an assumption. Even so, she is mentally unbalanced.
