WASHINGTON (AP) - After months of complaints from immigrant advocates, the Obama administration promised in August that immigration authorities would start focusing their scarce resources on finding and deporting serious criminals, and largely leave alone immigrants whose only offense was crossing the border illegally.

To prove the point, more than 1,900 Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials spent the last week arresting nearly 3,000 criminal illegal immigrants in a nationwide sweep.

GET ALL OF THEM GONE!!!!!
It's soo angering that we have to waste taxes on them and they are being givin rights when they are *NOT* legal!!!
We should not have to pay taxes if the government is going to piss our money away to citizens of other countries.

The administration is in big trouble for the incredible ATF debacle of selling 2,000 illegal weapons to cartel drug lords so now they give permission for ICE scoop up a bunch of 60 year old convicted DUI's.

One of those arrested in New Mexico was a 55-year-old Cuban who was living in Albuquerque, who had been convicted of cocaine trafficking and had returned to the United States after a previous deportation, according to the Times.

Of the 36 arrested in New Mexico over the past week, 18 had drug-trafficking or serious drug-crime convictions; 11 had been convicted of serious violent crimes; two were convicted of theft; and one was a registered sex offender, the Santa Fe New Mexican reported. The other four arrested in the state have been convicted of “other crimes.”

The 32 men and four women who were arrested in New Mexico were picked up in Farmington, Portales, Las Cruces, Albuquerque and Santa Fe, with nationalities “across the spectrum,” including people from Mexico, South America and Europe, Bill Jepsen, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations assistant field director, told The New Mexican.
“On a national level, there were 115 different nationalities,” Jepsen told the paper.

All those arrested in New Mexico were taken to an El Paso prison, where some will have a hearing in front of an immigration judge and others with aggravated crimes will be deported immediately, Jepsen told The New Mexican.

Of those arrested, 75 had been convicted for a variety of crimes, including 28 who had committed Level 1 crimes that include murder, rape and kidnapping. At least one arrest involved a member of the notorious MS-13 gang. The other 12 had been ordered to leave the country but did not.

"Those who come to our country illegally and commit crimes should be on notice," said Henry Lucero, director for ICE's Washington office of enforcement and removal operations. "We will root you out, you will be prosecuted for your crimes and we will ultimately send you home."
The U.S. Marshals Service assisted with the arrests, 57 of which were made in northern Virginia.

At least six of those arrested will face further prosecution on federal charges. Those already ordered out of the country will be immediately deported, while the others will face removal proceedings.

"Removing criminal aliens and preventing them from being released back into our community is one of our highest priorities," Lucero said.
