For the longest time but especially since the mid-air collision over the Potomac, people are crawling out of the woodwork blaming every single mishap on DEI which for the vast majority of them is code for Black people, but they're also not above throwing women under bus as well as you have pointed out.

So the requirements to fly left seat on the flight deck of a commercial airline are spelled out in the various federal rules & regulations. Anyone can look at the requirements in order to to find what they need to do if they want to fly commercially.
