Building a wall in hopes that it stops illegal immigration is simply put; stupid. If the blob would actually examine the facts; he would come to that conclusion (as would anyone) in 2 seconds.

Walls do one thing. They limit payload in many cases. Eventually someone is going to breach the wall with a vehicle—at which point I’ll look forward to the 2aguy approach of, “we had a wall, what happened”. However for most crossing the wall, they will be limited to carrying whatever they can carry. And if it’s a kilo of cocaine, that’s better than 20 kilos. If it is a pound of pot, that’s better than 20 pounds. If it is a pound of plutonium..,

So the immigration angle is patently stupid.

The value angle is less so

A couple of kelos of cocaine, or about 4.5 pounds is worth about $50,0000 according to the interwebs. I don't think that would be much of a problem. I don't think they will be climbing with bales of pot, but with it being legalized here, that market will probably fade before too long anyway.

I think you get my point. If not...5 pounds of a drug is better than 100 pounds of a drug or plutonium coming in or taking a kidnapped kid across the border headed south is much harder if you can no longer just drive across or walk across.

Walls have their uses. Immigration control is a bad reason. For one thing, it won’t keep out a motivated person. Secondly, it will keep out a largely beneficial population. Thirdly if you’re an entrepreneur or academic...why would you want to subject yourself to this atmosphere where your skin color is a Scarlett Letter? Repugs are shooting the nation it it’s foot.

And China built their wall in just 5 years.

The former USSR had a wall as well, much longer than the Mexican border and they defended it just fine. It kept pretty much all of them in prison under lock and key.

Where there is a will, there is a way.

It's like I've always said, the only way the Swamp builds the wall is to try and keep us all in the country.

My blue state legalized marijuana for recreational use in 2012. We were one of the first 2 states to do it.

Now, after 6 years, the black market in marijuana is pretty much gone. Anyone who wants to grow it here can do so legally. Anyone who wants to sell it can do so legally.

So at least on the west coast of this continent, smuggling marijuana into this nation is a waste of time, energy and beyond stupid. The price for it crashed and there's just no profit in it. Legal farms are all over the place so there's just no money in smuggling marijuana into the western coast of the United States so it doesn't happen much anymore.

Those backward states that still have marijuana illegal are what's still causing marijuana to be smuggled across the border. The prices for it haven't crashed in those states and it's still in the black market. When those backward states finally come into the 21st century smuggling marijuana into the United States will stop.
