Here's the problem with what you're saying. You're simultaneously making their argument, defending the bullshit of their argument, and then dismissing the one worthwhile acorn that the blind squirrel found.

When the libtards, as you call them, say they want to defund the police, what they really mean is that they want to defund the police. They want them gone. They want them abolished. That's why they often also add the demand "abolish the police." There are no two ways about it. It doesn't matter how many times some pundit tries to dress it up by saying "Well, it doesn't really mean defund the police what it really means is blah blah blah blah ...." Bullshit! They want to defund and abolish the police because they want to defund and abolish the police. Just like they want to do with ICE, and just like they constantly say--"Abolish ICE". They want to smoke their marijuanikkah, abolish all the rules they're supposed to follow, abolish every semblance of responsibility, and they don't want to have to have ask for their diaper to be changed. Just know it needs to be done and just do it.

And when you try to claim that Democrats want to reallocate funds to different services, all you're doing is making excuses for the Democrats and enabling their bullshit. Don't do that. That being said, in the desperate attempt to scramble an excuse, a couple actually relevant truths were used. It's true that police are often called out to emergencies that don't really fit their role in society, and for which their training is poorly suited to handle. We've tried to mitigate the problem with enhanced training, but it seems increasingly evident that police officers are good at being police while often bad at being other things. If you enlist a police solution you will get a police result. If you don't like the police result to a delicate situation, then maybe you need to call someone else, not the police.

The correct way to deal with this would be for Republicans to take the lead on reallocating funding to more effectively accomplish the end goals of maintaining peaceful, orderly, and safe communities, to increase overall funding, and to wrap "defund the police" around the Democrats neck and let them hang from a tree with it.
