FBI Director Says a Judge Accused of Helping Someone Evade Immigration Agents Has Been Arrested

Arrested a sitting judge eh?
This is significant escalation, I think.
Of course, if the judge broke the law...she deserves to be arrested.
If~

The FBI on Friday arrested a Wisconsin county judge accused of helping a man avoid immigration enforcement, Director Kash Patel said.
Patel made the announcement in a post on X and said his office believes Judge Hannah Dugan "intentionally misdirected federal agents away from the subject to be arrested in her courthouse.”
Patel identified the subject as Eduardo Flores Ruiz and said Dugan’s actions allowed Ruiz to evade arrest.
The Justice Department didn't immediately have a comment Friday. A person answering the phone Friday at Dugan’s office said he could not comment. The Associated Press left an email and voicemail Friday morning seeking comment from Milwaukee County Courts Chief Judge Carl Ashley.

The arrest marks an escalation in the Trump administration’s fight with the judiciary over the White House's sweeping immigration enforcement policies. The Justice Department had previously signaled that it was going to crack down on local officials thwarting federal immigration efforts.

Patel made the announcement in an X post, which was quickly deleted. The FBI did not immediately respond to requests for comment on why the post was removed.

Patel wrote that the FBI believes Milwaukee Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan “intentionally misdirected federal agents away” from Eduardo Flores Ruiz as agents were attempting to arrest him at her courthouse last week.

“Thankfully our agents chased down the perp on foot and he’s been in custody since, but the Judge’s obstruction created increased danger to the public,” Patel said in the post.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Tuesday that the FBI was looking into Dugan’s conduct surrounding an attempted arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents at her courthouse on April 18.

So, the initial post....has been removed? Was she really arrested?

Breaking story...much to be learned still~
Yup, like how idiotic the PR arrest will be exposed.

Then you fuckups will run and hide.

The fascist Trump regime has declared war on jurists defending the rule of law.
Bullshit. The absolutely no fascist Trump Administration is doing nothing which shouldn’t be done to properly assert federal authority over immigration issues.

You remain a hack troll simpleton.

Correct
If detained you can ask if you are under arrest and if not when you ask for release it must be granted or you must be placed under arrest
not completely true,,

they have to have a crime to detain you,
and if they do they are limited as to how long they can detain you,,

if no crime can be RASed then you are being held unlawfully and should be free to go,,

lot of good tax [payer money has gone to people for bad cops holding someone without RAS

She controls her courtroom.

Just remember that fuckup.

No charges will be filed.
Uh...charges have already been 'filed'.
The gist of them is that the Govt. alleges that the judge learned of the impending arrest and went back into her chambers..alerted the person in question, and led them out a seldom used door.

If these facts are true..then the judge fucked up...simple as that.

You don't get to break the law..no matter your principles. A judge above all must set the standard.
If the facts are as they allege--she is guilty.

...and that might be true. It does not, however, exculpate the Judge at all...as her actions were predicated on the belief that the suspect was going to be arrested.
Otherwise she would have waited for the Chief Judge to render an opinion.

Had she been sure of her legal position she would have waited..confidently.

Hilarious that you think this will go anywhere.

Why you so stuuuuupid?

The judge didn't violate the law, she was upholding it.
No..she simply wasn't--she helped someone flee the law.
It does not matter if the agents were in the wrong. The judge should have waited..let it play out..and trust the system the she's a part of.

Actually..I often think the same of you.

Try some actual reading sometime. In no way have I said that I think it will 'go anywhere'.
My opinion is that the Judge's behavior was unlawful. As I understand the facts as they have been related.

As to where it will go..who the hell knows?

I often note, that some people, when pressed for cogent rebuttal, find the pejorative as an acceptable substitute.
