FBI Director Says a Judge Accused of Helping Someone Evade Immigration Agents Has Been Arrested

Good arrest!

Harboring an illegal alien is a felony. Penalties include fines and imprisonment

Seems this judge had before her an illegal, at least once removed previoulsy. He was now charged with domestic abuse in a state court. The prosecutor, the witnesses against him were in court.

When this judge saw ICE outside in the vestibule/hall, she left the bench, went onto that hall and screamed at the ICE agents and told them go talk with the chief judge.

She then returned to the courtroom, asked the prisoner and his attorney into her chambers, then told them to leave by her secret exit.

Busted!

Now Dems in Congress are upset. Too bad.

Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan was charged April 25 with two felonies for her role in helping an undocumented immigrant avoid arrest after he appeared in her courtroom.

According to a 13-page complaint, Dugan, 65, is accused of obstruction a U.S. agency and concealing an individual to prevent an arrest.

Specifically, the complaint says Dugan assisted Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, a Mexican immigrant, avoid being arrested by federal immigration officials at the Milwaukee County Courthouse after he appeared in her courtroom for a pre-trial conference on April 18. Flores-Ruiz is facing three misdemeanor battery counts.

Two federal agents eventually chased Flores-Ruiz down outside the courthouse and apprehended him at the intersection of West State Street and 10th Street downtown, according to the complaint.

U.S. Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin described the arrest as an example of governmental overreach by the Trump administration.

Mayor Cavalier Johnson also slammed the Trump administration’s move, calling it “ham-handed," “haphazard” and being more about “showboating” than about keeping Milwaukee’s community safe.

“If a judge is being arrested in a courthouse, just imagine the chilling effect that it sends to other folks who would otherwise participate in judicial proceedings in our courthouse – and not just in the Milwaukee County Courthouse, but courthouses across the state of Wisconsin and courthouses across the United States,” Johnson said.

Republican Sen. Ron Johnson, the state's top Republican, said in a statement to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "I would advise everyone to cooperate with federal law enforcement and not endanger them and the public by obstructing their efforts to arrest criminals and illegal aliens."

GOP Rep. Tom Tiffany, who is considering a run for governor in 2026, wrote on X: "If you help illegal aliens evade arrest, you will be arrested."

Tiffany had attacked Democratic Gov. Tony Evers over a memo sent to state employees that provided instructions on how to interact with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement authorities who visit state buildings.

no its not,,

thats why its called detention and not an arrest,,
Correct
If detained you can ask if you are under arrest and if not when you ask for release it must be granted or you must be placed under arrest

Welcome to Fascism. We do not arrest judges for upholding the law. We do not send people to prison without due process. That's Fascism. You are supporting fascism.
We support realism which you don’t so you child wail racism or fscism

Don't listen to Democrap lies about "due process".

Arrested a sitting judge eh?
This is significant escalation, I think.
Of course, if the judge broke the law...she deserves to be arrested.
If~

The FBI on Friday arrested a Wisconsin county judge accused of helping a man avoid immigration enforcement, Director Kash Patel said.
Patel made the announcement in a post on X and said his office believes Judge Hannah Dugan "intentionally misdirected federal agents away from the subject to be arrested in her courthouse.”
Patel identified the subject as Eduardo Flores Ruiz and said Dugan’s actions allowed Ruiz to evade arrest.
The Justice Department didn't immediately have a comment Friday. A person answering the phone Friday at Dugan’s office said he could not comment. The Associated Press left an email and voicemail Friday morning seeking comment from Milwaukee County Courts Chief Judge Carl Ashley.

The arrest marks an escalation in the Trump administration’s fight with the judiciary over the White House's sweeping immigration enforcement policies. The Justice Department had previously signaled that it was going to crack down on local officials thwarting federal immigration efforts.

Patel made the announcement in an X post, which was quickly deleted. The FBI did not immediately respond to requests for comment on why the post was removed.

Patel wrote that the FBI believes Milwaukee Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan “intentionally misdirected federal agents away” from Eduardo Flores Ruiz as agents were attempting to arrest him at her courthouse last week.

“Thankfully our agents chased down the perp on foot and he’s been in custody since, but the Judge’s obstruction created increased danger to the public,” Patel said in the post.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Tuesday that the FBI was looking into Dugan’s conduct surrounding an attempted arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents at her courthouse on April 18.

So, the initial post....has been removed? Was she really arrested?

Breaking story...much to be learned still~

Please sir, may I have more....

Feel good story of the day.

And it is entirely proper and way overdue.

Rein in the judiciary (and actors within the states) who interfere with the legitimate work of the federal government.

Let’s put it even more plainly: given the US Constitution and its Supremacy Clause, by what right would any state or local judge have any authority to interfere with federal immigration law enforcement?
The fascist Trump regime has declared war on jurists defending the rule of law.
