The FBI is cool and definitely not a one trick pony.

Many people believe that countries like Australia have it "all right" when it comes to things like gun control and other policing matters.

I would submit that the on the idea of a National Police Force, The Australians do have it right.

Every state and territory in Australia has its own police force. Then they have a Federal Police Force. However, Federal Police is much smaller than the individual state police forces and it has a very limited set of powers. They don't take automatic jurisdiction in cases committed in different states as the FBI does in our country.

I think that a return to the much smaller and less powerful pre-Prohibition (pre-Hoover) FBI would be a move in the right direction.
