I didn't know that farmers had a union. Maybe Mr. Schweitzer is just a political hack who represents a handfull of disgruntled democrats. He claims that the 2019 Trump administration was "at war with all our customers"? What the hell does that mean? Maybe the customers in question were in freaking China. Now under Biden the customers "feel the love"? This isn't a logical statement by a real Ag. spokesman, it's a lame political ad for a guy who probably can't find Montana on a map. Look at the empty shelves in supermarkets today. Farmers depend on cheap fossil fuel energy perhaps more than any other class of workers and they are getting hammered by high oil prices courtesy of the Biden administration incoherent policies.

Every industry has lots of unions for the owners and shareholders, very strong ones; rightwingers only oppose unions for people who actually need them.

When the country exports the majority of its produce, it clearly is over produced.
It's called set aside, that's to stop growing crops to limit production. The subsidies are to secure the votes of farmers and the infrastructure that feeds off them.
