I was quite surprised to learn they were still in service. They were phasing them out of the Navy when I was in back in the mid - late 70's. Thought they were retired decades ago.

The Marines usually use the oldest jets that the Navy is finished with.

Dean Martins son flew one into a mountain in California. Mr. Martin never fully recovered from that.
